There's a new IMPORTANT box under Holoecho proudly proclaiming that we're going back to when the Holoecho state was even less useful than it currently is. Now, units in the Holoecho state inside opponent Repeaters will reveal if they are hackable or not. Not so for Holomask. So. 1. What the hell? The FAQ:ed version of this rule was working reasonably well and wasn't in need of reverting to the previous dysfunctional state. 2. Isn't the issue with not knowing if the target is hackable with Holomask? 3. What if the unit is in both states? 4. An Ayyar enters your Repeater. You now know which one is the real one and which are the echos, but you can't hack any of them. 5. You brought back the old question of whether Hackers have the Hackable Characteristic. So... do they? 6. Holoecho is no longer a Marker state so technically we can't use Surprise Attack from this state.
They noticed that one guy at the local game store actually fielded an Ayyar and have taken the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future.
Related: Holoecho is no longer marked as a Marker State, even if it is given as an example of such by Surprise Attack.
It must be a mistake. Then why do Kanren, Bashi, etc. even have the Surprise Attack skill if they can't use it? Surprise Attack requirement says they must be in a marker state to use it.
