Infinity started 17~ years ago. Cicada come out every 17~ years. Reinforcements are coming. The Caskuda is coming back. You heard it here first.
I hope so!!! I actually was thinking it might be one of the two Gencon tags that was teased. I’m excited to to get some game time with alien bugs!!! XD
I hope that Exrahs will come back as "Limited Engagement Mercs" in the same vein of the Morat Krakots. . . Even if we still have JUST 5 description of Ephemeras'Strains, 4 for the Concordat (Caskuda Mechs, Void Operators, Iskallers and Vektors) and 1 for the Commissariat (is just for the RPG that exists stats; "Naval Security Personnel" for Prison Ships of some kind; could be a sort of "Light Infantry" with Combirifle+Shotgun, High Sensors and maybe "Reaction Overwatch" kind). . . Not that MORE Troop Profiles, maybe even a Non-Ephemera HVT Elite Civilian in a "Symbiotic Carapace NBC Suit" would be not a Welcome Surprise. . . . .!!!
More likely Caskuda vs. Squalo, since the Squalo has already been confirmed to get a redesign this year and the box has been confirmed to be a TAG duel. Maximus' going to be one of the LE pre-order minis that's part of the bundle for sure though .
I'm going to predict: Caskuda will drop down to S6, ARM5-7, BTS6-9. It will keep the two flamers, but will drop to some shorter ranged weapon, maybe a spitfire, maybe even the legendary MULTI-Spitfire. It will keep combat jump+explode, but will be forced to deploy by combat jump. It might also be impetuous. If this works, it's going to be pure awesomesauce
I'd second the predictions above, although the cascuda's gun on the endsong cover art looks an awful lot like an SMG and there's no underbarrel thingy that could be some sort of a direct template weapon, but it might have an in-arm one like the Sphinx, there's also arm-blades but I doubt that these signify anything more than anathematics' CC 19. I'm also curious if it might get a Van Zant tratment of an NCO since the tactical awareness would be wasted on a combat jump TAG. What I hope the most for is a PH14 and Explosion on a combat jump with +1 DAM, dropping a taryot on the heads of rooftop dwellers in opponent's deployment zone proved extremely fun, I hope that cascuda does more or less the same thing but bigger and better. I also wouldn't be surprised if it gets super-jump, and the only thing I'm worried about is that it might be a reinforcement-only unit even in vanilla CA, but we don't know enough about how reinforcements will work to be doom and gloom about it in advance, so in general I have high hopes for return of the space bugs
make sense. I expect reinforcement to do what they failed to do with the SoF Extra. But instead of take at most 75Pts it will be take at most whatever the Caskuda cost.
I am thinking something along those lines as well. One of my guesses is, It increases with pts like swc. Maybe 25 per 100 or something. But I’m guessing that you can’t actually call in reinforcements until that much of your list is dead. Like moving units from one group to another. But you’re moving x amount of army points from off the table onto the table once that space is free. just spitballing. But I’m really excited to see how it actually works!
*hype intensifies…!!!* seriously though! They’re both awesome! I actually really Dig Max’s pose. They nailed the punch wind up. Looks really good! Caskuda is as good as I could’ve hoped for! It took a minute to figure out what his head looked like but after that, it’s great. And kept the insectoid theme pretty well I think. :D
Love the look of both of those! The reimagined caskuda looks mean as hell. I’m getting guyver vibes with those arm blades. Very insect zoanoid… Maximus too is great. I’m sure there’ll be people on both sides who both love and hate that there’s another aristos character in Infinity now. I think he looks nice. Gives me a Metroid armour vibe. And my wallet has run off, screaming something about having bills to pay. Damn thing gets so melodramatic when new toys are announced.
Evangelion vibes are strong with this caskuda And Maximus open great conversions for Jotums with his shield I guess my miniatures addiction won't get any better this summer
