    Hey guys,

I’m trying to give Defiance another shot and got couple of questions after reading both the original booklet and official pdf. They are somewhat different and contradict each other in some places.

hope someone can clarify these to me:

    1. Do you keep obtained loot cards after the mission (as the book suggests), or do you discard those as pdf mentions?

    2. Crafting. Pdf mentions some kind of samples that you gather after destroying enemy units and that you can use to craft items. But there seems to be no support of these mechanic on cards and anywhere else in the game. Very confusing. Can someone explain what are these samples and how can you get them and spend them?

    Thank you in advance!

The PDF is an early demo from during the Kickstarter campaign, the physical booklet takes precedence.

    1. Keep the Loot
    2. You can get Software Samples usually from hacking consoles. Those software samples can be spent on buying/upgrading hacking programs (so Jazz mainly uses these in the base game)

Nah, he's referring biosamples and tech samples from demo book. The thing that supposed to make upgrades like cryocontainer viable.
Too bad these mechanics didn't make it to the final game.
