No, it does not. That's just you overinterpreting things. The fact that we don't care has nothing to do with CB fluff being good or bad. We just don't read it and we don't need it to play and enjoy the game.

Also, I find that 40k fluff is now terrible (except if you're a 12 yo kid), so I would say it's not the best example to pick...

It being absolutely redundant and creating zero engagement from the customer base is totally not an indicator of its quality and failure to perform the sales driver rule it's supposed to.

I did not count on an unbiased opinion on 40k fluff on this forum, but I'm still amazed how vastly uninformed an opinion can be.

    You overinterpreting things.

I played 40k for 20 years and read hundreds of books and novels aboit this universe. I'm well informed enough kiddo :)

I can see you're looking for a fight, as in every single message you write from what I saw, find someone else to play. I'm out.

For info there are the old panos drones that are passing in OOP: Retired on July 01, 2023.
Panoceania: Armbots: Peacemaker and Auxbot + Bulleteer Armbots (Spitfire, Heavy Shotgun)
I've updated my release schedule for July indicating that this is a speculation.

I think it will be a repack with 2 new remotes, maybe also the profile will change with the summer update with the new reinforcement rules.

I'd guess a resculpt, rather than repack.
In siocast, probably. It would've been consistent with drones getting converted to new material, they tend to be quite the chunks of metal otherwise.

I guess my druze wouldn't say no to some new profiles on both, though.
...I have the 1gen ones, thank you very much :D

So Carlos said they are updating one army a year? Is that correct? So if they do that, it means a faction is only updated roughly every 30 years. Not counting some NA2. Of course this is assuming no new edition within that time. This year seems to be Bakunin and new CA?

I don't believe so, unless you've got a link? Apart from every army in the game getting Fireteam updates last year, and the big N4 update in 2020, last year saw updates for Kosmoflot, Corregidor, and Morats at Adepticon, then the Steel Phalanx and Hassassins at Gen Con. This year has seen a big Bakunin update and a small Starmada update, and we don't know what form the Gen Con updates will take but the new Reinforcement mechanic is likely going to see most if not all factions get some sort of update, not including and specific updates to individual factions.

We might see a shift to 1-2 big model range updates per year now C1 is nearly complete, shifting to an Action Pack and follow-up schedule like Morats and Bakunin. Though I wouldn't be surprised by a new Battle Pack in 2024/2025 when Blackwind has been around a while.

If they did 3 a year it would be about 5 years before they got back around to some factions.

3 armies a year for 5 years sounds like 15 armies being revised in the timeframe you mention.

Depending on how you count it, but I believe we have more armies in Infinity than that:
    • PanO: vanilla and 5 Sectorials
    • YJ: vanilla and 3 Sectorials
    • Ariadna: vanilla and 5 Sectorials
    • Haqq: vanilla and 3 Sectorials
    • Nomads: vanilla and 3 Sectorials
    • CA: vanilla and 3 Sectorials
    • Aleph: vanilla and 2 Sectorials
    • Tohaa: vanilla (though it feels more like a Sectorial, it is still, technically, a vanilla)
    • NA2: 8 Sectorials (no vanilla)
    • O12: vanilla and 1 Sectorial.
That makes for 9 vanillas and 33 Sectorials, or 42 armies total. That's before adding any armies CB might decide to introduce in this timeframe.

Sticking to the "3 armies revised per year" this brings us closer to 14 years for a full turnaround.

Of course, that's pure math - it doesn't take into account fractional upgrades applied to sectorials if they include an unit present to an army being otherwise updated.

We had 44 army updates last year (Fireteam updates at Adepticon, SP & HB at Gen Con)

Depending what exact form Reinforcements takes we might be seeing a similar amount this year.

...And now please substract 8x NA2 and all the discontinued sectorials like QK, Acontecimento or Chaledonia to get the real number of active armies :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: And I do not think Vanilla gets updates of there own. It is more like Vanilla gets some of the new profiles of the renewed sectorials, too. O12 might be an exeption.

Why should we consider only "active armies" for the entire update cycle?

An "active army" can be shelved in a few years perspective, and an "inactive" one can be reactivated -vide Shasvasti.
Also, vanilla can get changes and updates on its own. I agree, it has been rare so far, but it does at times happen.
Same with NA2. While only the JSA is being very distinct thematically, they are all playable armies, and as such need to be considered whenever there are updates going. In fact, often they get updated with new mercs and changes affecting main faction's troops that also happen to be in a given NA2.

Sorry, but I can't agree with your logic.
We could argue where on the spectrum between 33 and 42 we are with armies warranted for updating, but definitely I see no reason to assume that in the greater scheme of things only the currently active armies should be consdiered.

Why should CB consider inactive armies for a rework?
Going strictly from a business perspective, it does not make much sense to put ressources in a product that is shelved. And for me "playable army" does not equal "army considered for rework/update".

Do you consider adding Profile updates coming from other armies updates or the introduction of Merc profiles like Fiddler a rework?

Imho the re-introduction of Shavasti was merely a byproduct of Defiance. Without Defiance, I doubt CB would have reworked Shas.

And lastly I do not think I saw the rework of a Vanilla army for the last 10 years without a change in a sectorial as well.

For me, that leaves CB with less than 25 active sectorials/armies CB to think about reworking - still 7-8 years if CB is just reworking 3 sectorials/armies per year.

Steel Phalanx were an inactive army and got reworked last year, starting with Operation Blackwind.

The worst part is they start then but never really finish them. They add new stuff, make some adjustments, and that's just how it's going to be until the next rework.
