I saw this archive from a defunct site on pinterest about a TAG from the N1/2 era (Lezard?).

    Hey,

I did my first try at sculpting, and it was really fun, I want to discover more of this.
I'm trying to work on a "French History" style for O12.
    Here are the results:

    Sirius Team

I replaced my team sirius with the Gevaudan fluff: it's the story of a big wolf that killed many people during 18th century in France. People went for a giant hunt in order to find the beast and kill it.

My favorite movie about this is "Le Pacte des Loups" where the beast is in fact a Lion imported by a rich guy.

I chose to add a Tricorn for the miniature to remember this era and to use a Mecha-Sabertooth tiger for the bot because of this movie.

    upload_2023-3-14_23-9-18.png

I'll use a true Sirius Bot in competition, but local gaming group is really liberal with proxies :)

Here, Cho as Team Sirius Gevaudan unit with spitfire
I tried to increase cape lenght but failed; I still need to clean her up !
She won a ponytail because why not and I also upgraded her combi rifle to Spitfire for maximum damage

I needed to give a try at sculpting hair, so I started with the half-bald girl from kappas. Now she has all her hair back.
I'm still wondering if my Kappas will get berets, tricorns or bicorns.
I think berets will be the easiest, giving them both frenchy vibes and military thematic; army color scheme will do the rest.

Next one is Van Zant, Varangian Guard, Gaul Guard
Gaulish people were ancient French civilisation, I'll do my O12 Guards accordingly.
I really like the Van Zan miniature, so I added a big mustache, more beard and a cape for a dramatic effect.

The cape has some digital marks from my fingers: I'll polish it later, and might add fur pelt on the shoulders

Edit: sorry guys, it's a bit out of focus, I didn't noticed it on mobile. I'll take better pics on next wave !

Did a quick conversion of Sargosh to make him laughing behind his claw.

How do you work the neck like that ?
Do you apply putty then carve it, or do you carve it then apply ? What does the tool looks like ?
    It looks soooo clean

Thanks! I applied the putty and smoothed it with a soft silicone flat clay shaper. I then used a hobby knife with a short rounded blade, (it looks like it depends on manufacturer, but I think it is the #12 in most), to press into the the detail in. I like using the rounded blades for this because it allows me to use the rounded edge to press in and then rock the blade instead of dragging. This helps to prevent harsh tool marks that can be caused when inserting or extracting the point of a straight blade, or from the putty stretching along the line of the drag of the knife.
I went over it again with a flat angle clay shaper to polish it up, going back in with the knife, or the angle chisel clay shaper, where detail may have been lost, and then more polish, and back and forth.

@nehemiah nice work, it reminds me of laughing Predator, which is a great thing ;)

@LeGweg - I wasn't the one asked, but I have to agree with @nehemiah - the soft silicone clay shaper is a great tool. Definitely improved my GS work. Other than that I also used a bent wire to smooth some surfaces, and also a smoothly shaped tool for sculpting - to be honest the tool depends on what you want to achieve.

    I did the reasonable thing:
    20230319_073236.jpg 20230319_073303.jpg
For the build I used a 2.6 mm diameter polystyrene tube (cylinders), a 0.88 mm diameter polystyrene rod (piston spikes), a 0.25 mm thick polystyrene sheet (clamps and fitting around the pistons) and a 0.3 mm thick wire (cable). After shaping the round ends by friction melting and filing the material, using my micro drill as a lathe, the parts were glued together and the whole build was then fitted to the Penitent's gauntlet by cautiously carving material of the build away until it fit properly. The sword and handle were removed with a really sharp hobby knife and the Penitent's pinky was repositioned to form a proper fist (yeah, unnecessary detailing ).

My inspiration came from the Manga Eden where Cherubim uses that kind of CCW

Holy COW those last few conversions are amazing. Thanks Wizzy.

What model is that Grief Operator based on- is that an Aida? And is the head a Kauri Sentinel or something?

Definitely gonna lift those gunhead Koalas if I have to convert Jackbots up quick for my stand-in Fiddler.

The Digger is great. Shows how little adaptation is needed to get a decent HI model to work for the unit.

Dragaoe works waaaay better in that aiming pose, and it totally does look SodaPop style. Nice!

And that Gator repose has potential. Don’t like giant CCWs but that arm pose is better suited for whacking something… shoulder-mounting the gun then makes sense. Mine arrives today, may take a similar whack at it.

Forgot to post this. The third member of the Haris with Young Arslan and the ABH.

Druze HMG made with N1 Bagh Mari parts and an arm from an N3 (Icestorm) Fusilier.

Not the tidiest greenstuff but sometimes it's just better to get a model done. He's painted now so piccies soon!

Started painting this guy so thought I'd post a pic of the conversion. I wanted a Tao Wu themed in line with my "deployed to battlefield" Druze, so got the new Saladin and then realised he had the wrong weapon... So I did a push mold and miliput cast of the cloak so the rifle would be easier to grind away. Then added the cybereyes and a Yu Jing sword from and old Dao Fei.
