Hacker TAG!! With a lot of Hacker support. Between Robin Hook and the Initiaties, you have a lot of repeater coverage.

I assume so. That is in line with other phrases like Dodge +3 or Submachine Gun (+1 Burst)

Yet another TAG for Nomads. A specialist TAG at that. :rage:

A TAG that can be in an effing duo! And if anything, you team it with the damn Vostok.

Great for them but of course I’m jealous as hell since Yu Jing is lucky at having 2. 2! The second largest hyperpower and we have 2 TAGs! I also don’t believe it will be only in Bakunin.

Edit. I see that it's available to Vanilla at 2 SWC instead of 1.5

Yes, PanO sold their entire old line of TAGs cheap and at bulk discounts if nothing else there could be more TAGs Nomads could have bought.

Though the Observance is such a small force, military speaking, they may have the luxury to manufacture their own TAGs, something the Nomads proper military cannot do so.

It still makes NO sense. If that really was the case, why can they field them so cheaply and low SWC. I wouldn’t necessarily mind them having many TAGs if they cost a lot and had low AVA. But this new one is cheap and can Duo! This force can easily duo them since it has plenty of GOOD cheap troops to make up for it. Cheap because they tacked on stupid rules like Frenzy and Impetuous. TBH I’d duo it with a Vostok or Tsyklon before another Stigmata.

Man, what are you talking about? Why do you think Nomads have more TAGS than YJ? For all you know, YJ has 5,000 Guijas deployed throughout the human sphere, and the Nomads have like 5 Szalamandras.

Nomads have more kinds of TAGs, which makes sense for a ragtag crew of disparate, well, nomads, cobbling together what they can from obsolete Pano gear and space junk. Why wouldn't YJ perfect one artillery TAG and one CQB TAG and mass-produce them?

Exactly this. People tend to forget that the lore behind a game can not be properly represented in our sanitised and balanced skirmish battles. No general, or should be properly called in this case Liutenant :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:, would pass the opportunity to apply the powers of numbers and superior weaponry against a less numbered and less armed enemy as it would ensure the minimun loses in it's own side in the path of obtaining the strategic asset in conquest... And still our games are played with a sanitised 15 troopers each side, with a maximun of 6 SWC weaponry applied for both contendants, and a maximun of 300 points of value each side...

The game uses the lore for Vibe, Aesthetics and Flavour. And it does it greatly. Not to properly represent the powers the actuals powers to be in the tabletop field... Otherwise, well you know, there is a Combined Army out there with the powers and numbers of a Whole Galaxy:astonished:

What? no, you will duo it with a repeater engineer like Invincible can do with their Guijia.

As far as Tags go Yu Jing is a mainline army with a lot of territorial claims to hold and support, few TAG lines that are well supplied and supported is what operationally makes sense, Nomads on the other hand is a minor force (consisting of even smaller forces) that can afford to specialize because their numbers are small, but also because they have no option, manufacturing their own denies them the option to manufacture something more essential for their life in the void, if PanO sells a lot of bad and defective TAGs they buy a lot of bad and defective TAGs and do the best they can with them.

Replacing casualties is also a big issue with Nomads.

You guys keep talking background and stuff. How does that help ME playing a game? I currently have two choices of TAG. Nomads are going to have 6.

Again, If you take that to the conclusion, then Guijia should be AVA3 and 30pts cheaper. Just due to have so many available. They would also be available to ISS then as well. And where do you get artillery from? CQB?

Gameplay wise? ok, Nomads will have 6 and Yu Jing just two, and? everybody has in one form or another MSV and smoke combo, PanO has none, and? these are design choices influenced and influencing fluff.

But you should not invoke fluff by claiming Yu Jing are the second biggest nation in order to ask why they have only two TAG lines and then ask why we talk about the background.

I seem to have missed the bit of LORE and FLAVOUR where Nomads are described as TAG specialists (and at this rate, HI specialists too). If you don't find anything wrong with one faction having access to EVERYTHING I'd like to introduce you to this one little concept called "game balance". Unless you mean the lore says Nomads have to be able to field whatever unit they want and have unparalleled flexibility to the point the faction is stepping of the toes of the majority of the other factions.

I mean, why play PanO or YJ or whatever when you can play CA or Nomads and have the same things they get on top of a million things more. I'm still waiting for the YJ and PanO uber hackers and repeater nets, but it seems lore says Nomads can get hyperoptimized TAGs and HIs but YJ and PanO can't have great hackers because suddenly that's "a Nomad thing"

Nomads bought the entire defunct PanO old TAG line, so they have in their arsenals, probably not in the numbers PanO had, but never the less what PanO had before they updated their entire line, having a lot of specialized TAGs is nothing illogical from a background standpoint.

As far as balance goes, neither Nomads, nor CA come close to what other factions have, especially in the sectors they specialize.

I keep liking posts of both sides of the argument here. Wonder if that means both people have valid points.

My two cents? Yes, PanO and Yu Jing could get some of the love Nomads are getting. For example, I would have loved for ISS to get the remake this year, since Nomads just had their time in the limelight in August 2021, while YJ had their last in March 2020.

Yet, a lot (not all) of PanO and Yu Jing is just as competitive as a lot (not all) of Nomads. Vanilla YJ is better than Tunguska, and SAA is better than Corregidor and Tunguska.

I'd be all in on a third YJ TAG though. But that's just because I love TAGs.

Sorry I’m being confusing, even to myself.

I’m trying to say background is being used to justify something that feels unfair in real life. I have PTSD from Uprising lol.

If you keep saying fluff effects the game. YJ should have a lot of cheap Guijia and Blue Wolf while Nomads have a few good ones with some variety. I don’t care how many good engineers and scientist you have. It’s a matter of resources. YJ has two worlds and parts of three others. So they are using comic book logic to justify it.

You would think that but it's not as great as you think. Since that ENG is very squish-able. But at least this linkable ENG is 11pts cheaper than Jeong! A Vostok is also repeater and can take a hit or two.

Sorry I don't know if you are talking about the first part or second part I added. First part is opinion based on logic. I've read enough comic books to know when story is being used to justify something.

Second part yes partly. I've tired using Jeong a few times with the Guijia only to have him splatted every time to small arms fire. So I started using Krit Kokram.
