So Adepticon 2023 has an Infinity duo tournament, where it's 2v2 with every player taking a single 200 point list. I've been struggling a little to try and cook up a good list for the event and would appreciate any advice.

    Some factors:
    • Missions for the tourney haven't been released yet, so obviously this is subject to change. Just trying to make the best general list I can for now.
    • My buddy will be taking JSA. He is new to Infinity and is picking it up very quickly, but we're going to make sure his list is relatively straightforward. It will likely lean on domaru's and ninjas with a bike or two thrown in. Maybe an oniwaban if wants to be more disruptive.
Here's what I've come up with so far:

    OSS 200pt Duo List
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    [IMG]10
ASURA (Lieutenant [+1 Order], Hacker], Hacking Device Plus [UPGRADE: Trinity (+2 Damage)]) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser ( ) / Pistol, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 69)
RUDRA K1 Marksman Rifle, Mine Dispenser / Heavy Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 38)
    DAKINI MULTI Sniper Rifle / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (1.5 | 20)
    DAKINI (Paramedic) Combi Rifle ( | MediKit) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 15)
    DAKINI (Paramedic) Combi Rifle ( | MediKit) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 15)
SAMEKH Rebot FTO Missile Launcher, Flash Pulse / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (1.5 | 17)
    LAMEDH Rebot Flash Pulse / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 7)
    LAMEDH Rebot Flash Pulse / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 7)
    NETROD . (0 | 6)
    NETROD . (0 | 6)
    3 SWC | 200 Points
    Open in Infinity Army

    Basic Approach;
    • Asura & Rudra in a duo fireteam to advance up the board together. Asura is my lynchpin and to be protected at all costs. She'll in the thick of it to press buttons, discover markers and spotlight heavy targets for the Samekh.
    • Rudras is there to deal with armored targets, deploy mines, go into suppressive and generally try to be big/annoying enough that my opponent shoots at it rather than the Asura.
    • Dakini 4-person fireteam with Samekh to setup as a sniper ARO. After the multi sniper inevitably dies and the link gets broken the remaining two Dakini's are speedy backup specialists.
    • Samekh to sit in back and shoot missiles at spotlight targets.
    • Lamedh to have the potential to run up the board quickly and increase repeater coverage for the Asura.
    Concerns:
    • All my eggs are in the Asura basket.
    • Minimal backline coverage.
    • Not a lot of specialists.
    • Little long-range shooting outside of the Dakini, and I know JSA struggles with this as well.
    Possible edits:
    • Cut a Netrod+paramedic Dakini for a Garuda forward observer to hunt snipers, push buttons, and target backline units for samekh.
    • Drop the Rudra for something slightly less terrifying in the midfield that provides specialist redundancy. Daysus hacker, Andromeda, Pavarati, Posthumans, etc.

I'd definitely appreciate any and all thoughts!

Honestly, for long range shooting, I'd grab the Dakini HMG instead of the sniper. I also think the Rudras is redundant with the fact that JSA can bring a number of anti-armor options (especially in melee)
Also, with JSA as your ally, I'd leave first turn AROs to tankos and flash bots, let the ninjas hunt their backline, and use the domarus as a skirmisher buffer, and just go all in on the HMG + missile plan. JSA just covers so many of OSS's weaknesses, and even brings smoke, so it feels a crime not to take advantage.

maybe for the last point change a CSU to a breaker rifle one just to help against bears.

This lets you start with a markmanship mimetism HMG to sweep any enemy ARO, then the evo can switch to fairy dust on the asura to make her even meaner in hacking. With the posthuman, you've now got a engineer to pick up your hmg if something goes wrong, and a FO in case the asura is out of position or got focused down. Also, make sure your asura ends the turn in cybermask, just to make it harder to kill.

    I hope my thoughts help.

This is hugely helpful! Thank you so much!

For some reason I mentally wasn't accounting for the way that the two armies could work together to cover each other's bases, even the notion of smoke/MSV combination didn't occur to me. Great call in dropping the Rudra and adding the engineer/probot I really like this as a basis moving forward.
