First: Merry Christmas to all of you! Second: I stumbled on a picture of a games day at corvus bellis facilities apparently some days ago on instagram. Can anybody tell what that is? *Excited* could it be a rem racing game prototype? That's the picture I am talking about...
Zooming on the miniatures, I have the impression that they are indeed remotes, it seems to be a prototype. Edit: Save pictures: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/corv...x2?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
Looks very prototypey to me, too. There was some feedback on the German discord to the same question I asked there. CB had some kind of prototype with them at SPIEL in Essen. But that is about it.
I honestly don't give a damn how does it look like. What is important is how it plays like. With a board game, I consider graphics to be secondary, and potential miniatures to be just icing on a cake, if at all. It is playability that is king. I've seen games with tons of cool miniatures and doodatts - but the play was clunky and unsatysfying. I've seen games with simple graphics on cards and cardboard tokens that were great fun to everybody at the table. So, if the CB / whoever else is making it for them iron out al the wrinkles on gameplay while playtesting the prototype, it has a chance of being a good, fun game. CB can then add the icing by giving the game cool graphics design and magnificent miniatures (though these tend to be kinda wasted regarding the usual boardgaming crowd, who aren't typically into the modelling aspect of the hobby).
I hope for a good game in terms of gameplay as well. According to rumors the game is based on fan made rules which are ... well I don't know, having never played or read or seen any rules.
The Ramper guys (hola Ramon!) know their games well, and CB will definitely be very careful with the quality of a third-party design. This game is likely to be good in the way that Aristeia is good. Have faith guys.
This might not be the Ramper game, they've been working with multiple partners. From Bostria's comments at least one game has been basically done since 2020, which is the same year we got REM Racers in N4 and they released the Xmas Yuan Yuan with a REM Racers box on his bike!
Another clue around the release of rem racer... the synospsis of the flying pulpi strongly suggests this game. Post: https://twitter.com/Intercb/status/1624747077308764160
So it has been rem racer after all. Agnes Ferreira is mentioned as one of the rem pilots. I am wondering if she will get the skill in N4 proper, and if there will be miniatures for the rem racers accompaniing the launch of the board game. They won't be part of the board game itself, as it seems.
