I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but @ijw or @HellLois is it possible to update the Combined Ammunition section of the wiki (https://infinitythewiki.com/Combined_Ammunition) with an example of N+E/M? While I know that a hit by it causes Two Saves at Half BTS, with the target suffering from the effects of E/M and losing structure/wounds, it would be nice to be able to point newcomers to the wiki. Thank you for the consideration.
It might be something for them to address in an errata at some stage, especially since the latest FAQ/errata made a bit more progress with the game than usual. N+E/M is extremely powerful, there's a consensus among experienced players about this when it was realized what the wording implies. One hit causes two saves at half BTS which cause loss of w/str per failed save AND induces isolation (or immobilization for some targets). I've always been suspicious--if the team was unaware that the Avatar had remote presence on its profile for approximately 2 years, it's also possible that they released this weapon wording without realizing that it was effectively joining a DA CCW with an EM CCW in a very oppressive way. It also means Nourkias can often move directly into CC while taking shots from several different enemies, ending up with more wounds than he's taken, because of his +1b in CC, extremely high CC stat, and protheion.
From IJW's commentary on people doomsaying Oniwabans at the start of N4; they are fully aware exactly how E/M CCWs work and exactly how good they are.
Yes. They had stated it multiple times in rulings and I feel it is reasonably clear in the rules. However, I just think it would be nice to have the example in Wiki as E/M CCWs are available in most Factions.
Agreed, especially as it's a pretty significant change from the way it worked in N3 which I still see tripping people up
Absolutely deserves a clarification on how it works. People trip over this all the time, veterans and newbies alike. Just saying this is reasonably obviously a known feature and not an oversight.
How it works is explained pretty well in the Combined Ammunition rules. At least once you are told where to find it and how exctly to read it.... XD E/M CCW could gladly support a note/box/page for itself, it is asked once per player whenever one come across it
I will talk with @ijw about the viability of this. ;) And yes, we know how it works since the release, and its how we want it to work. So, there is nothing to be suspicious about.
