Post faq 1.3: Can you meet the LoF requirements using 2nd skill for non-BS attack skills? RAW Guard and Discover skill LoF requirements can be met using the 2nd skill. Perhaps the new BS attack requirement apply to all LoF skills? You can't declare a skill from a position you haven't occupied during the order so what situation would this ever occur in?
The active trooper declares Guard attack in ZoC but out of LoF using 1st skill and moves to LoF using 2nd skill. Requirements are met in step 5. Is the Guard attack performed? Normally I would say no, but the latest faq specifically disallowed this only in BS attacks, not in other skills.
It's not the Requirements that are involved there. You can't declare BS Attack from a point you have not moved on during the order. Blue cannot declare BS Attack on the starting position because he can only see Red at the end of the movement. Blue cannot declare BS Attack as first skill because he could only declare it from THAT starting position
The difference is that BS Attack is the one LoF skill where you actually care which particular line of fire line is used. You win a prize if you can find one of the other ones where the game would be improved by adding a similar statement.
