O-12 is the latest faction added to the game, with only 1 sectorial. I'm not really into adding sectorials or factions to the game, but I think O-12 really lack profiles compared to any other faction. Looking at their overall missing profiles (camo tokens especially) and the numerous mentions of "bureau noir" in the N4 lore book, I think that next sectorial might be it. Do you have any ideas how O-12 will grow ? Do you think Bureau noir will be a thing ?
I don't think the Bureau Noir will ever be a sectorial. The department is very much an internal policing, investigation, and espianoge sort of deal and far less an armed force of any kind. That being said, I would love for the next O-12 sectorial to have that same kind of focus on guile and lateral combat that one would associate with a sneaksy bureau. Something with a focus on some of the shadier aspects of O-12 that they sometimes need to engage in. PSI-Cops, Gangbusters, Cyberghosts, Betatroopers, Razors, Lynx's, Cuervo Goldstein, Casanova, some new sneaky midfield mofos. A lighter, FD(+8) Hidden Deployment HI to annoy people with would be dope. Maybe a new combat REM and a couple mercs alongside the Betas for the whole deniable assets vibe. Something with Deployable Repeaters would be cool.
Currently the whole O-12 generic army is looking like SWORDFOR. As Starmada is a subsection of Spatha, the Gladius Teams could be another sectorial.
Well, it's as equal as looking like Starmada too... tbh if they found Starmada legit enough to be a sectorial, same could goes for SWORDFOR.
Considering the limited size of Bureau Aegis forces, all sectorials coming from it are likely to share several units. Remove Starmada dedicated units and Circular linked units from the Starmada Sectorial (Knights of Santiago, Crushers, Bluecoats, Nyoka, Bronzes, Raptors, Tian Gou... and I'm not talking about the characters) and you have the core of any potential O-12 sectorial. I think to have the whole SWORDFOR as a sectorial would imply more units from other Bureaux in the O-12 generic army. Currently, most (if not all) of non merc units in the generic army are from various branches of Section Spatha (Glo-Pol, Psi Unit, Starmada...).
I think you may have something there. Thematically and functionally, Bureau Noir would really fit well into the hole currently left in O-12. Troops not in core O-12 likely to show up in Bureau Noir: Hexas seem like a sure thing. Another Pan O unit with an HQ function, or a new special character with a Pan O background Something sneaky but unique from YJ like Kanren. I’m tempted to say Hac Tao but doubt YJ would let anything like that out of their toychest. Maybe the YJ visor combat remotes (even Dashat can get those, so not a big stretch)? Or even (gasp) the Su-Jian? Characters Emily Handelman, Knauf (depending on where in the timeline this is situated) Le Muet Maybe CSUs as the generic merc element “disposables.” Access to both Anaconda and Zeta TAGs?
@Savnock I do agree with your list, and I'd love to see the hac tao coming there ! Another thing I thinked about is how "bureau noir" is strongly linked to the way CB manages news sectorials: they tend to add many loan profiles instead of new ones, and bureau noir works like that. It's a good marketing and lore approach of the sectorial. Also, Bureau Noir does some kind of shady black ops and it's totally in the fluff of infinity skirmishes
I want the Bureau Gaia, bring on the combat gardeners, clandestine ecologists, and guerilla terraformers!
have been waiting aleph and tohaa sectorials since i started playing this game. excitement became wondering , wondering became sadness sadness became annoyed state. i changed and played different things and was not a solution at all. i suggest not to wait anything.
Supposedly a new sectoral is happening at Adepticon. I think there's a good chance it could be O-12 getting it. Other contenders are Yu Jing and Haqqislam. Mainly because those factions have received the least number of new figures over the last 4 years. Starmada I think is very strong because it already has half an army that could be a part of a sectoral. They would need to add very few new troops to make it happen. Some of those might already be made with REF troops. I feel that the conflicts with the Combined Army would have necessitated SWORDFOR creating a true O-12 army. Starmada is a part of the Navy and has been more of peacekeepers and law enforcers. They show up after the fact. They need an army that takes it to the enemy. The below list is obvious. What isn’t in Starmada plus Reinforcements (I kept Zeta in it). I’ve added my guesses for fireteams. But you can see after you add in the REF, they have some good stuff. They could add in a bit more to fill in some gaps. They could even kill two birds with one stone by adding more Aleph (Steel Phalanx) units. Myrmidons to go with Hippolyta, Penny, etc. But if you buy the O-12 Action Pack plus then REF pack. You almost have the whole thing! Edit: I think the Ment agents are not really meant to be "Army". They have the feel of being more like police of some kind. I think they will eventually go Starmada. Also, I wasn't sure on Team Sirius and Gangbusters. To me they scream "police" and I have no idea why they are not in Starmada. Light Infantry Alpha Unit Kappa Unit (Core, Duo, Haris) Lynx Lambda Vidocq (Wildcard) Ment Agents (Wildcard) Medium Infantry Cuervo Delta Epsilon (Wildcard or Specific additions) Jackboots (Core, Duo, Haris) Heavy Infantry Gamma Unit (Duo) Omega Unit (Haris) Remotes All the usual except no Roadbots. Skirmish Razor Unit Nightshades Warband Hippolyta TAG Zeta Unit Troops from Starmada, I think should also be in here are Betatroopers, Cyberghosts, and Sarko.
Not really, no. Model release count has nothing to do with it, but I agree an O12 sectorial would be an easy release (since they can cram most of vanilla that is not in Starmada there). Considering what sectorials can go to OOP, we have Varuna (I think few will miss it at this time, frankly, with winterforce and MO coping whatever vanilla leaves), Imperial Service, USAriadna (unlikely despite being halfway there, since the primary target is the US market), Onyx (only, we just got new Ikadrones, and they must match the Unidrones), and Khum (since Haqquislam is down to 2 sectorials, but we are talking about irregular bandits and bikes, implementing that ingame would be a headache). Tunguska would mean a Nomad riot, Druze will get a repack on January, JSA just got the new Gundam... I mean, O-Yoroi, etc... Now, how would you feel about an NA2 sectorial that is a joint Taskforce between O12... and the CA? Pros: 8 models box: Umbra, Aspect (choose Skiavoros -can double as HVT- or Anathematic -Big Guy, it's S6-), Sniper Unidron, ML Unidron, Plasma Carbine Unidron, Nexus engineer (new model) and two new troops, being able to pose as both Onyx relaunch, riding on the new double Imetron + Ikadron box (which points to Unidron redesign) and as a tease for the long-awaited Ur sectorial... (which is Onyx, without Shasvastii, Morat, Sygmaa, Ko-dali, etc..., and other, most sinister troops). Or third attempt, of course... Sygmaa. All hail the horned artichokes! NATO does not have its own army, it drafts from allied countries. O12 is the same, and remember the whole of Aleph would be part of O12 (Bureau Toth), plus since Endsong we are back to "mere" black ops of limited reach (so, no armies), specially since there is no state of war with the CA, just a ceasefire while the CA helps prevent Concilium to reach full Doom's Hell situation and possibly even go back from its STALKER+Half Life current state. Why "plus reinforcements"? I would make no sense, specially since the O12 reinforcements box will come out close to March! We already know the next ones are Aleph & Hassa, so only Ariadna & O12 would remain (I think for April), so the potential customers would be overpressured to buy a big box and spend half again the next month. Which is the strongest argument against it: first, it would not be something new, and second, Corvus would sell... just the reinforcements, if at all. Please remember a new sectorial implies a great investment in man-hours, and using models already sold would provide no return at all. A new Aleph sectorial would be more likely than a O12 using the vanilla troops not in Starmada, frankly. IMO, the first thing a new sectorial will have is new models, which means it must be either a mix of existing profiles that get resculpted and new profiles, or a semantically correct affirmation that is laterally false... in this case, a box of new sculpts from old models, that are used in a mixed Sectorial, with bonus points for forcing "spread buy" to those unwilling to proxy (so, kappa core, which forces the O12 & Starmada Action Packs, would be a must. Very likely, Sarkos OR sekudroids, O12's support pack and O12's remotes, possibly Betatroopers and nyokas but NOT bronzes, Unidrones, Nexus, Umbras, very likely a new "OVER/XEO drone", and new troops).
I agree mostly. CB has, in the past, tried to be fair in who gets what models. While I'd like a O-12 with some CA. I feel it might be too soon for that kind of combination. I can see an O-12 and Aleph a lot more. O-12 needs to be seen as fighting for humans and working closely with CA after many have been killed is a slap in the face. O-12 is supposed to be like an actually effective UN. NATO would be more like troops from Yu Jing and PanO fighting together at the Human Edge. The Combined attacking in the past is a good excuse to build up the O-12 military. I added REF because they just "feel" right. Except for the Ments, they seem more military and less police. We will know more when more background comes out. Good point on the box set. So it's a good excuse to make another one. Most of the O-12 only troops only have one sculpt. It's about time they got at least a second.
Ments are O-12 internal affairs, they are the cops that cop the cops. All the Reinforcements got fluff in Endsong. I don't think next year's releases will match any of the Reinforcements boxes. But I do reckon sales of Reinforcement boxes will inform what sectorial(s) we get in 2025.
Unfortunately I don't think REF is doing well so far. I don't know anyone that got the YJ or PanO ones in my area. I'm sure the Nomads will sell because a lot of players are Nomads right now (they also got some broke a$$ stuff). Not sure on CA.
Carlos mentioned the new wormholes, I don't have the new book. Anyone know how they relate to the new sectoral?
When it was under attack from the Spiral Corps, just before it created the Quantum Anomoly Zones, the Digester sent several deep space signals out. These were traced to several as-yet-undiscovered wormholes in the Concilium system, codenamed Styx, Tartarus, and Abraxas. The plot part of the book basically ends with these wormholes being discovered, but from what Bostria says in the video, Torchlight is a new division of SwordFor in charge of protecting, defending, and/or exploring these new wormholes.
