I love the background and look of the Hollowmen. If i was to build a list around a core of them what else should i take in the list?

kinda hard to answer without a specific mission to build around. they're pretty expensive and only Perseus can play with them in 5 man core without reducing the BS and discover bonuses.

you need some kind of Lt for the list. Only a few options in TJC and with a hollow core, only Inteventor or Securitate are affordable. you probably want to take a couple of flash bots and a motorized bounty hunter. a Vostok in a haris to be aggressive and head to midfield is also a possibility, but Tsyklon Spitfire is probably more achievable. You'll need an enginner and a zondbot to support the list. and maybe something with MSV (Grenzer or Cheerkiller) if you need to protect the link using smoke. but honestly, play around. try and get to 13-15 orders across two groups and make sure that in terms of killing and pushing buttons that you have a plan B besides the hollowmen.

I played a Hollow Link pre-COVID (meaning: N3) and found it quite fun to play, but weak against Spam lists (some outdated relic from back in the days) and tending to either work extremly well or go down in a reign of fire. Playing Hollow-Core means basicly hitting everything with the bigger club. You dont have any defence like Mimetism, so you have to rely on your High BS and Burst and optimizing the Rangebands.

I liked to play the Hollows with some options to either support their advance or get rid of special problems:

Interventor Hacker (Ltn) for Hacking support and the sweet sweet White noice.

Clockmaker /w zondbots to keep the hollows running

Spektr Multisniper rifle to get rid of high burst, no MSV/Sixth sense units or, in worst case, an additional defence tool

    Puppetmaster for countermeasures

Some killer Hacker like Heckler/spektr/Mary to optionally counter enemy midfield hacking

either Zondnautica for smoke or replace an hollow with perseus

everyting listed is quite expensive and leads to not much orders in a second combart group. Hollow-Link is the Multitool for nearly everything, the rest is there to eneable them to do what they have to, either with preventing enemy vision, killing threats or repearing.

    What he said.

I built a Hollowman list for Acquisition, and it basically has everything Anubis said, except for two Motorized Bounty Hunters instead of the Heckler and Zondnautica to get to 15 orders.

The Hollowmen Core covers every single rangeband and has the mandatory button pusher. Plus you get the Grenzer in a Haris with the Interventor and Securitate Paramedic (to pick one of them back up should the chance arise), giving you that sweet B3 MSR hitting on 16s, as well as a second team of specialists to move forward and push buttons. Everything else is support for the Core team. The bikes can't push buttons, but they can rush forward turn 3 to snatch the tech coffin from whoever is holding it.

I realy like the idea of the Harris /w grenzer. This guy is a beast in both ARO and active turn. I think he intends to do the same as the Spektr MSR (the point costs are quite similar), especially with the option of throwing smoke before him for additional negative MODs for the enemy and not loosing too much of his own power to hit. Linking Grenzer with Interventor and securitate to optimize the models already in the list.

I think the main difference is, that the Grenzer is straight forward with no surprise for the enemy and also bound to deploy in the own DZ. I tend not to move an infiltrating sniper to much towards midfield, but some maps have positions where an infiltrator with sniper can be quite a nasty thing.
I guess in most situations the Grenzer is the better option or at least equal in value and the decission to pick the spectr is mostly personal preference

@burlesford ’s list is a very good one. The only thing I would consider changing is putting the Grenzer overwatch team in Group 2. I tend to use fire support teams aggressively/actively as much as reactively. You don’t want to rob orders from the Hollow link when you need to shootout at range.

This added aggressive longrange option might also help relieve your need for the ML in the Hollow link, as you have some range around. You could then use those spare points to upgrade your Warcor into something else like a flashbot.

@anubis having a visor on your ARO unit is invaluable IMO. Stopping/slowing smoke-tossing warbands is important for protecting your low-PH Hollowmen.

Fair point. My list of hollows was a N3 one, so from the time when MSV1 was crap vs smoke AMD white noise
I guess in N4 I also would go for the Grenzer, his value skyrocketed with the MSV1 change

Good advice! I usually don't play the Grenzer aggressively. Maybe I should try that out. I honestly put that ML Hollowman in mainly so I could field the cool looking mini ;)

The only thing I want to say is that even if you had the points, you couldn't upgrade the Warcor to a Transductor (at least not in this list) because they're AVA 2 and there are already two in the list.

What you could do though is swap the ML Hollowman for the Multi+Pitcher, then spend the extra two points on upgrading the Interventor to a Fastpanda, this way extending your hacking network greatly.
