What I know of Infinity's background is based on the RPG, which is official, but we know that games based on other licenses tend to include things that don't fit with the original product. Since there will surely be people here who know better the official background of Infinity, I wonder if there is something of that in this case. Is there something in the background of the RPG that can be said that has nothing to do with the background of the wargame? And as a second part of the question, is the point of the RPG's chronology prior, subsequent or simultaneous with the point of wargame? It is also known that RPGs often set at a different time point to hide changes in the background.
From what I remember the RPG is set after the Japanese Uprising and before Daedalus' Fall. That means there is no Third Offensive nor Concilium front in the RPG.
My bad, after a quick look at the Paradiso book, the Daedalus has fallen. And there is a front on Concilium. So the events of the RPG are more or less close to the wargame.
The Core book is pre-Uprising/3rdO/Daddy's Fall, but those events do get covered in sourcebooks. Carlos Belli personally signed off on all fluff, one of the reasons it took so long for all the books to be released.
