If it’s not possible to gain total cover, can an Impetuous model fail Guts and move into partial cover?

Guts has the wording: … the Trooper must move up to 2 inches to gain Total or Partial Cover from all attackers.

Impetuous has the wording: Impetuous Troopers cannot benefit from Partial Cover MODs.

So is the Partial Cover MOD the same thing as Partial Cover?

Interesting point, I never thought about it but if the trooper cannot benefit from cover why should he be able to guts to it, not sure if the rules do that thought, there has to be an expection for guts in the Impetuous rule for that.

Partial cover is just if your SIL is obstructed from the attacker no mention of any MODs.

The MODs themselves are an effect you apply for been in it.

So I'd say yes they are seperate things
