    We have a local tournament happening at the end of the month. I haven't decided on playing WB or Vanilla yet. We don't know the missions yet. I was going through some of the force I've already made for missions and then remembered some players make their forces to go against certain forces rather than the mission. I'm just not sure how to go about it. Does anyone have advice on this?

    300 points is very T1 momentum based, so that means building around attacking and defending against alpha strikes is more important than the mission parameters outside of very specific requirements (i.e. anti-material requirements).

    Questions I ask myself are things like how does this list perform versus alpha strike X.

    X being anything from T1 core linked pitchers and missiles, the Avatar, Impersonators, Sexual Harassment Panda etc.

    Similarly I question on what it does T1 to secure momentum against an opponent.

    If your meta has an Avatar, ask if your list can handle it some way. If your meta has bears, ask if you can handle that.

    I think YJ can definitely build lists to cater to certain opponents without risking the ability to complete the mission.

    Also when in doubt, camo spam. (YJ has a lot of camo pieces that are relatively safe from T1 alpha, and many lists whether Van or WBA can be filled with camo or DZ defense like monks/kuang shi that the opponent probably doesn’t want to dive against.)

    I don't think we have anyone with the Avatar. I'm more worried about Speculo and Sphinx.

    Camo spam is fine for Vanilla. You can do WB of course but it's more limited for troops. Also, except for Hac Tao and Daofei, you kind of give up some fire power for Camo.

    Sphinx dies in CC and is suboptimal when fighting targets who have Camouflage, Speculo's are trickier, though the less armour their target has the more survivable they are.

    I have some good new finally. I didn't want to start a new thread for it.

    I got second place out of 10 in a local tournament yesterday playing White Banner! We had Frostbyte, Quadrant Control, Capture and Protect. In that order. Fun time and I was able to get Fiddler fig for second.

    Sure. On Frostbyte the Ye Mao was the Snow Ops. I knew anyone else would die at the end, I made them as cheap as possible and took a lot of REM. For once I used the Beasthunter well. I new a Iguana was coming so I set up the BH to take him down. Which he did!

    It was pretty difficult coming up with a list that worked for both C&P and Quad Control. I went for balance.

    Just add in a bit. We had in addition to my White Banner, 3 Corregidor, Starmada, Varuna, Ramah, OSSS, Military Orders, and Morats playing any byes.

    In my last game it was yet again the F-ing Vostok killing a third of my army. Every time I've gone up against it, it's been murder, for me.

    Adepticon is coming up! The missions are these: Power Pack, Unmasking, Supplies, Countermeasures, Decapitation

    I have not decided yet if I'm going to do it but I want to be prepared if I do. I'm thinking of playing Vanilla but WB is an option too.

    Standard rules, 2 lists

    PP, Unmask, Supplies all have three objectives in the middle. PP has also two consoles.
    PP, Counter and Unmask have exclusions zones
    Various free troops and stuff. CSU, Master Breacher, etc.

    I think most of these require speed and infiltration. You either need to get to the middle or target or place to do a mission card. I'm not sure if I should do a Shooty list, specialist list, one against camo, with lots of camo, defend against hackers, etc.

    Anyone with ideas?

    I'm afraid it needs a bit of more firepower though. I think there's going to be some that muscle their way through things and I wouldn't have much to stop them. I did supplies the other day and a Gamma unit just rolled through me. Then fast stuff just rolled up and took the supplies. It was pretty awful.

    I cannot determine it at the moment, its previous incarnation ate through a Corregidor list with two tags and HI and then could not kill a single Sunduqbut (admittedly the dice were really bad).

    Still working on how it should be played and what I can or should change.

    Edit As I play it atm I only have a Haris with Shang Ji, Jujak and Ye Mao hacker.
