So raptor khd cybermasks and then next order moves into the open. The raptor gets discovered but not his peripheral. Is his little buddy still in impersonation-2 state? Cybermask states: the "The effects of this Program persist until the user reveals themselves as per the Impersonation-2 state rules." But the raptor did not reveal himself.
I tend to disagree and that is mainly because there is no cancellation statement for when a peripheral's user exits out of a program. There are four different places to look for an answer in the wiki: peripheral, cybermask, supportware, and Imp state. "If the player activates a Hacking Program that grants a MOD or State to the Controller (such as, for example, Cybermask), that MOD or State will also be applied to their Peripherals". If the hacker's use of a Cybermask acts like a supportware then it ends when revealed so wouldn't that mean the effect end for the peripheral too?
Cybermask is not Supportware (a change from N3) and says to use Impersonation-2 state rules for revealing the Trooper.
Just one question, if Cybermask says: This Program affects only the Hacker himself and therefore has no range. How does the Raptor's Devabot get into Impersonation-2 State? [EDIT] I already saw it, in the Peripheral's Effects.
This is one of the many reasons that having peripherals able to Cybermask was always a crappy idea. Further magnifies outsized impact on the game for low-cost, low-risk unit. It’s a cool concept, but pretty inherently unbalanced.
