Well, if only our characters were bland... ^^' (but that's why we play PanO, we do love boring and reliable stuff :D)

I’d never call my auxbots boring… but they’re certainly reliable. I quite like the box, waiting to see the Kyle Hawkins mini up close as it’s my least favourite at the moment.

Here a question I have been thinking about since Infirmarers of Saint Lazarus dropped and the Curators are in the works if they can use Palbots since they fill the role of Trama-Doc an Machinist?

Palbots can be assigned to any Doctor or Engineer, so the Infirmarererer, Hospitaller Doctor, and Curators can already use them.

Love these models, love their profils and can't wait to get my hand on it and perf with it in tournament with it :p
(came 3rd out of 18 last week :p)

The HVT will be a nice commander (I play my KoTHS on a bigger base. It suits its ARM 5 W 2 profil) and hawkins is a solid multi purpose attack piece that will reinforce any hospitaller link as we stated in our MO tactica video.

It's a great box model and game wise.

I'm not usually one to be salty about a sculpt, if I don't like it I'll just not buy it... but that Hawkins model is just awful. The head is terrible, the position of the sword is terrible, the drum mag on the multi pistol is terrible. I'm disappointed because I own and have painted the entire current MO range with the exception of the stupid biker, and this model reminds me of a 1994 GW sculpt. It's rubbish.
PLUS the book was rubbish and the character was rubbish too. Oh and the profile is boring as well.

I do like the curator though - it's a shame the miniature doesn't have that shamefaced expression like she just screwed up your Tikbalang, that was pretty funny.

The Grand Master is cool, but a goblet? I would have liked to see a wine (or martini) glass - it would have fitted the miniature better I feel. I guess with a blue armour they needed a contrast. Wine out of a goblet. Ugh. Savages.

Glass and power armour probably aren't the best combination. At least if you don't want to dramatically crush something when making a point.

I’m also quite unhappy with the Hawkins sculpt. The pose is… odd. I’ll have to see it in the flesh though to make a more informed decision. Still wish he had the hospitaller sword like the other knights hospitaller but oh well.

I really like the other two minis in the pack, though the curator dies indeed appear to be shamefaced! Perhaps she’s done something other than screwed up a tikbalang...

I wouldn’t exactly call them savages for drinking wine out of a chalice (please don’t say goblet, the word comes, if memory serves, from the ancient Roman Calix which was a similar drinking vessel used at banquets). The grand master having a chalice is likely due to the Military Order being Christian and the chalice being used during the Eucharist or some other holy ceremony. A wine or martini glass isn’t exactly Christian. It can also be an allusion to the vessel that Jesus served wine out of at the last supper or as a means of ecclesiastical heraldry. It could have been more ornate, unless they’ve gone for an Indiana Jones vibe…

Going to have to get another hospitaller set and convert Hawkins if he’s not nice in the flesh. I really don’t like the stance so putting the pistol arm on another hospitaller or swapping the sword arm to a more knightly pose is likely what I’ll do.

  14. Yes, the pose is a bit...I don't even know how to describe it (with the tactical rock aggravation; is there really nothing in the future to put your foot on to do the cool pose other than a rock? in the future there are no boxes, some technological device, whatever that isn't be a rock?), although it has the good thing that at least he isn't scratching his back with the sword...like Hector.

Yes, it’s very strange. I much prefer the knight hospitaller sculpts (though there too are tactical rocks!) as they seem more… knightly. I sort of love the Troy movie reference on Hectors mini! Though it’s Brad Pitt that scratches his back with his sword in the film. I would like to have had extra arms with Hector though to change the pose as desired.

Hector's arm also fits naturally 90* forward, so that it looks like he's resting the sword on his shoulder instead of scratching his back. I honestly think that the example was assembled wrong. Hopefully Hawkins's sculpt is easy to reposition too.

See that's the thing. I reckon glass would show how advanced the armour is - capable of fine motor control. A metal goblet? Easy mode.
In the grand tradition of arguing on forums it IS a goblet rather than a chalice. At least in my mind a chalice has some ceremonial application, and the Grand Master's casual pose indicates this is more of an every day drinking vessel. Probably a Malbec or Shiraz considering the panoceanian origins!

Oh, I’ll certainly grant that it IS a goblet if it’s not being used in any ceremonial fashion. But she’s the head of the military order, I’d therefore expect it to be a chalice if you get my meaning. Though to be fair she is standing around with all the air of somebody at a party who’s completely disinterested in the goings on of that party… damn. Perhaps it is just a goblet.

Malbec or Shiraz is certainly a possibility. The Hospitaller order is still going today so it’d probably use whichever wine is associated with its headquarters currently which is in Malta for the most part. (Apologies for my ignorance here, I am unsure what wine is typically drunk on Malta).

Still not liking Hawkins mini. The more I look at it the more the pose bothers me. Going to have to fix that. @RolandTHTG, thanks for letting us know about hectors arm! I’ll assemble mine accordingly (he’s still in his box, I have too many haqqi to get done before Aleph).

To quote a destiny armor piece

"Grip settings range from 'exquisite caress' to 'vengeful fist that does not know remorse'."

I've returned briefly to add my voice to not liking the pose of our new hospitaller character nor the fact that once again someone in a multi million dollar suit of armor chooses to take off their damn helmet, and ensure every sniper in the inner sphere has a field day
