Acontecimento is back?

    Hello my co-Panoplayers,

    lately I'm not so active as I wish playing Panoceania, so I haven't played all sectorials oft, I stayed too focused on playing Winterforce, but after the fireteams changes I wanted to take a look on my first army, and allways beloved, Acontecimento. The true is that Acontecimento, despite Corvus placed it into the freezer (models, amazing btw, I never understood why Aco was choosen), is still working, even I feel the latest changes did not as much harm as we could think at first to the "jungle warriors". I have the theory that Acontecimento was really well designed when it cames back in N2, still, passing editions of rules, and profiles with habilities or skills given to others armies put Aco some steps down, but lucky us, still playable. Fireteams changes could be a hidden or unexpected boost to Acontecimento.

    After running those guys into battle, I took some interesting conclusions.

    -We have lost ARO strength, but we weren't the only ones, so, it is a lesser complication, plus, Acontecimento wasn't so good in active ARO as others armies. Yes, the baghmari snipper with full bonuses were a thing, but not "a top one", the shapper still disputes the slot, so, now, without full bonuses the humble regular goes over the baghmari choice. Now an opponent can easily have doubts about what we will running, so it would harder to choose a side of the table :)

    -Now regular's can be almost in any other fireteam, so we can spare a lot of points placing the guys with "the BIG fellows". Even the basic "haris" full of regulars: spitfire+paramedic+minelayer/sensor is something to take it seriously.

    -Talking about defensive list, Acontecimento can put a lot of mines in deployment phase, this will something hard for some armies, or a minir inconvenience for others, but even a "bear" or "dogwarrior" dislike to run into a mindfield where a dodge roll failed will mean to do several armour savings... So, at least the enemy should take a moment to think about what to do or playing "lucky".

    -While Acontecimento is good talking about defense, if we want to talk about attack we have a lot of pieces to do it but if we aren't facing heavy targets. When we face profiles with high armour (6+) it becomes really hard to put those down. The waste of orders could be too much. The tools we have for this are too limited, mostly are expensive ones. Yes, Acontecimento can allow to deploy some of this expesives ones, but still the list will be compromised a little.

    -Acontecimento have a good half table control if we want, it couln't the best, but it is at least good enought. Nagas + Dart allow Acontecimento exchange shoots with some others half table profiles with a little conviction on "the job will be done". Even we can place peacemakers along nagas/dart, making the control a little better.

    So, making it short, Acontecimento is fragile (extremely) but too extremely flexible.

    Of course, they are still some profiles which should receive a little of love, Kirpal, Guarda de Assalto and Rao.

    What do you think about Acontecimento? It is now better or worse?It has this "step back to N2" suited well to Acontecimeto or not?

    While I believe Acontecimento is playable and yet most important:enjoyable, I still feel that Pano is a little drifted by Corvus.

    Shock remains the best Sectorial that noone's heard of. They're the version of PanO N4 i feel legitimately excited about, and they remain the only PanO force that i can apply to any ITS mission lineup with relative comfort.

    These have been my preferences for Haris setup. Absolutely amazing teams:

    Starting NCA instead of Acon might have been my biggest Infinity mistake ;P(not that NCA is bad, it feels like using cheat codes after years of playing MO)

    I love pretty much all the Panoceania armies but I will never be able to play Acontecimento. They’re definitively claimed by my friend who has had them since the start of N2. Similarly though he can’t play hassassin bahram so it’s a fair trade.

    Acontecimento is a very strong force with some nice unit options. I still love the guarda de assaulto but that may be because it has an aux bot… I live in hope that CB will return to this sectorial and give it the love it deserves. I’d especially like to see a new dragoes TAG.

    The light shotgun changes benefited the Guarda pretty significantly. The Auxbot being able to lay templates is a big offensive and defensive improvement compared to N3. I don't take it routinely though, since I much prefer a TAG or a Haris for that kind of order-dump aggressive maneuvering and gunfighting. Still, that's probably a factor of TAGs and Haris being overemphasized, rather than the GdA being particularly weak. It's hard just to pay for most of a TAG without wanting to buy the rest of it too.

    Oh, I’m just biased because Auxbots are my favourites. Just watch our videos on YouTube. Every time my auxbots die I get upset. Not sure why everyone targets them, they’re good bots. They only want to dispense flaming/shotgun justice to the world…

    The auxbot is better now if we talk about killing, but to this you have the Guarda, the issue here is the change to the GL, with no bonuses to BS it is "a flip coin" situation to launch smoke, so, you can't even to think the eclipse option as a "battle plan", this is what bottered me too much about the little auxbot from the Guarda. I hope CB still made to this little guy a "Eclipse GL BS+3 or Burst +1". What we will see if the ARO power for a bunch of armies do some good to the guarda. My experience wasn't too great, but maybe because I was to bolt with him.

    I am at this moment 3D printing my own Gargantuan auxbot… it should end up around the size of the megalodron.

    Yeah the auxbot's smoke is hilariously bad with the new grenade launcher rangebands. The light shotgun spitting templates is the redeeming quality of the GdA, because otherwise it's a unit that's continued to slip a little bit more each edition.
