did you take part in the other online campaings organized by CB and Beast of War? Flamestrike, Wotan, etc etc
If this information is correct I can only say that I [sarcastic mode on] love [sarcastic mode off] the use of the term «Headquarters» to define a box composed of an HVT, a character and a troop... that none of they have the option of being Llieutenant.
Well, how to explain it in the short way... (assuming it will work like the previous campaigns) There will be a number of operations theaters / locations. Each will be controlled by a single faction at the beginning (some factions will have no "home turf"), and attributed a mission that will be played there (possibly with extra scenario rules). Once you have played a mission in your chosen theatre of operations, you have to report the mission and result (preferably with a detailed battle report, and photos) to the campaign manager. A win or a draw will add points to your faction's score in that location. Whoever has the most points at the campaign turn end, is in control of the location. Each campaign turn should likely take two weeks or so. At turn's end, some locations will close (making results there more or less permanent - subect to scrutiny of the game reports by the refree), and some other will open (potentialy giving home turf to factions that had none in the previous turn). Some locations will have two (or more) parts (eg. the last time, in Novy Bangkok, a spaceport had Hangar and Control Tower, both playable in different campaign turns - a faction needed to control both of them to control the spaceport). There will be a faction forum with the game engine (in-faction access only), and there will be discussion topics here on the forum. Some in-character back-and forth between factions, which is fun to read usually - and some political manouvering (factions tend to ally - or not - and agree to leave each other's turf not attacked. Or to concentrate attacks on a given enemy turf). Likely, some old animosities will resurface - the last time in Novy Bangkok the traditional Nomad / Haqq alliance was joined by NA2, while Ariadna held together with O-12 (while game fluff used to point out Ariadna being tradtionally on good terms with Haqq & Nomads, this went a different way a few campaings ago...). Now, don't get too personally invested in the campaing and its outcome: precedent suggests the CB launch it having a very good idea how it is going to end and affect the general fluff - whatever the players do isn't likely to affect that.
On the page of the new Kickstarter of the game Takkure (a beautiful cyberpunk rugby game by fans of infinity/aristeia), I saw this note: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sparco/takkure-new-teams Personally I find this statement ambiguous in my translation, either we're going to get a new Corvus Belli game by the Takkure team, or Corvus Belli is going to work for the Takkure team (like CB did for a racing game with Holy Grail Games). See if we should make a topic for this info.
The Tian Gou are very nice, I wasn't expecting a box! But my wallet is happy that I've put O-12/Starmada on hold, good to see some more Madtraps on the wild too. PanO headquarters pack is great. We finally get an MO themed HVT and she looks amazing. The Curator is just lovely, and while Kyle is a fairly standard Hospitaller I like that he still has his helmet on his belt and the multi-pistol looks a lot like some of the CP2077 tech guns. The pose is unusual but gives me Medieval tapestry/painting vibes. Definitely a box in looking at grabbing for my MO. Uxia finally gets a CAD sculpt for her visor profile, nice details but I'm not sold on the pose, the way she's holding her blade reminds me too much of Dark Helmet wielding the schwartz in Spaceballs. I'll stick with the N2 version for now. Wolfgang is awesome, I prefer this one to the limited preorder version as the pose is much more dynamic and interesting. I'm always a fan of miniatures that have a little narrative built in. Not sure I can justify another mini for him though. Uxia and Wolff also cap off the Ariadna and Nomad C1 ranges just in time for the release of Aleph and Haqqislam in August
Yes the Tain Gous are nice and I also did not expect a box and especialy not a box that misses one option (not that I ever got the idea to play the red fury). Speaking of options ... why the BSG? Or better: Why is the BSG one point more in army? Normaly Combi/BSG are the same price. Nice to see, we got a couple of new (at least the right one looks new) goat bots. I hope the change the way they are build, because the older ones had tendency to lost their head, because the connection is very, very thin. All in all I think this box is very expensive - 35 € for 2 whole and two half miniatures. Looking at the Pan O box I see its gets even more expensive. 40 € for 3 minis ... they are nice yes, but all I want was the Curator. Kyle looks a bit boring. Look I took my helm of, I am a character now. The HVT or "supreme commader" looks nice. I am still not very fine with the wine-probe-pose - I hoped for something more solemnly. Oh and looking at the still cute Curator - I demand at least one more ARM point for her! Wolfang looks bad ass. A mini-diorama. I do still not know, if want him. I never see the need in CJC to take him, I would always prefer the Senor. A new Uxia - yay ... I don´t need her, mostly because I don´t play Ariadna and the mini is noting special in my opinion. Maybe I would buy a Bikini-Version ;-) The bases look nice too, but I bought the 40 mm version of the alpha-series and I was dissapointed, that they do not provide space for magnets. I drilled, filed and carved and barley mangaged to put two flat magnets under them. I don´t want this experience again.
I see your Schwartz is as big as mine… sorry I couldn’t resist! It’s rare to see anyone with knowledge of spaceballs. Showing our age here… agreed though, Uxia’s stance is a bit odd. I do like the Tian Gou and the MO box set. Still not entirely sold on Kyle, I need to see him in the flesh so to speak but I’ll likely pick up Wolfgang as he’s a very nice mini and with that multi rifle will fit in with my pano in some capacity. You’re right that the options are a bit strange for the Tian Gou but I couldn’t posit as to why the BSG is more points. Very nice minis though. I too would have liked a different pose for the HVT. Perhaps leaning on a ceremonial sword or even looking as though she’s about to give some speech. Still a very nice sculpt though. You should get an Uxia. Any Uxia. Everyone needs an Uxia. Same for Joan of arc… it’s why there’s so many different versions of each! I too find it a little odd on second viewing. The MO in particular gets noticed due to (not intending any slight here against the painter) the eyes on the HVT/Supreme Commander being out of alignment and are also a different size than each other. Other than that I think the blue is brighter than the other MO stuff but it’s still well done, the tabards are very nice.
Because the combi has a Nanopulser and the BSG has grenades, presumably grenades are costed at point more than a Nanopulser.
Finally some more accessible madtraps. I like this wolf-man a lot better than the limited release, glad I waited. Edit: Actually, I still don't really love that model. It's clearly based off of the same 3d assets, and one of the things that bugs me the most is that his entire torso, from his hips all the way up to his shoulders, has basically no definition. You could say it's the clothing and armor, and not everyone's a perfectly toned Adonis, but it's just not the visual style I'm expecting from Infinity.
Love that Wolfgang is ripping a Betatrooper's head off. Don't think I'll ever use him either though. Those Tian Gou are AWESOME. I'll be getting some for Madtraps for my other armies, and to use as conversion fodder. Kyle Hawkins... 40K poses, mega-meh. The rest of the pack is great though. Love minis not in "wave sword with one hand, gun with other, yell!" poses.
Tian Gou are great but as an O-12 player who already found and pay high prices to get their madtraps, I'm sad this is a box, because it means having to split to get and play AVA 1 Tian Gou in my army ^^' but at least that means having choice of sculpt + extra madtraps, which isn't necessarly bad. The paintjob on the MO pack is weird, probably because those were a bit rushed to make it for the release I suppose, given their only recent spoil? And I hope the new packaging for single mini includes extra internal padding to not have the mini moving all around in the too-big-for-them cardboard box.
The Dragon Lady included a plastic insert so the amount the pieces could move was limited. Sargosh, Fiddler and the Zeta did not, but then were insode a larger Battle Pack sized box. I haven't got the Tyrok or Event Shikami yet (they're at my parent's in the UK)
Uxia itself is a nice miniature. Even her oldest incarnation. But no, thanks, I do not have the time and passion to paint her and have no actual use other than to put her in the cabinet - for that purpose I have others ;-) and yeah I have two Joans, the lim ed "normal" version and the lim ed "mobile" version - still unpainted and unused ... Thanks to point that out. Anyone ever used that grenades? Do they make even sense? And - why are they one point over the nano, which is a templete weapon, that can not miss, while the grenades need 13 at least. I look like oh - with the Shotgun, the loadout don´t need a nano, what can we give it instead? I wished somone came up with mines :-)
