    Hello fellow Alephians,

I am not a really new player, but a very inexperienced one. I love the OSS sectorial and tried to build a list that is very thematic. It doesnt have to be ultra competitive, but also not useless.

Theme is: Robots and Hackers mixed with some fancy toolbox specialists without that uber-piece like achilles, marut or asura.

All comments welcome! Also could need help with group composition.

    Cheers

First a disclaimer I haven't played OSS very often myself but here are my two cents. You can link the danavas with the dakini. It might break the composition bonus but brings a lot of versatility to the link and boosts the danavas' pitcher. Also the dakini paramedic wouldn't be bad to be around to pick up the deva and danavas.
I would try to get a Garuda into the list as something that might come unexpected from a table edge or combat jump behind enemy lines. One yudbot might be enough as the proxies and the yudbot can cover the link and the misslebot.
I really like the hacker proxy as it is another upfield specialist as the sniper from hidden deployment can be great too.
It all comes down to a matter of taste and mission. The dakini core is really bonkers. Especially when boosted with assisted fire.

    MoScotch, Welcome to Aleph!

    A couple things.
    1) did you have a specific type of mission in mind? I find I build for a killing or zone control mission differently than I build for a button pressing mission.
    2) Any restrictions on units that you want to include or exclude, beside the Asura (Though the OSS exclusive Hacker Lt+2 is really good, and I recommend you try her.)

For group composition, I generally think that the two things to keep in mind are
    - if you've got a plan to spend the orders in each group?
    - are the linkable units all together?
For instance, I don't see what you're going to spend the orders on in the first group, after the HMG suppresses any AROs. None of the rest of those models ant to be advancing upfield, except maybe turn 3 to push buttons. Meanwhile, both the Naga and the Mk5 want to use the same orders to attack, and any spec fire missles will also be drawing from the same pool of orders, so your second group will quickly run out.
For the second point, if you lose members or wish to use the danavas as a defensive hacker, or the Samekh as a late game aro piece, neither's in the same group so will take additional command tokens to add to the core team.

    Minimal changes I'd make:
Move the Naga, Danavas, and the samekh to group 1, and upgrade the samekh to FTO.
Drop 1 daleth and a yudbot to get get a Garuda, possibly swap the probot with the Garuda to get the garuda in group 1.

@Fed4ykin thanks for your answer! I agree with everything you said. I never used devas much befor, but with the new fireteam rules I really like the deva hacker and it is a cool and fluffy way I think to finally use one of my many devas :D The Danavas felt a little bit redundant after that, but I like her because of the pitcher and hd+. so i thought she could help extend the repeater net and walk alone and maybe join the fireteam later if it becomes necessary. I switched Proxie mk2 hacker and sniper back and forth, but somehow felt with yet another hacker I would miss out on some heavier firepower and aro. cant have it all I guess :D Garuda sounds perfect for the list and brings some versatility.

@RolandTHTG 1) to be honest I havnt played that many games, while most of them where annihilation and the rest usually button pushing. In general I think I want a toolbox for whatever mission as I use the list as a direction on what to buy and paint next :D I really like the Asura you mentioned... she just makes it near impossible to include all those other parts I want. Also I sometimes find it hard to use those heavy point models effectively in game. I am usually too scared to bring them in a bad position and see them die. But I will try to build a list around her too!
    2) thanks a lot for your great composition tips, makes a lot of sense, should have realized that myself! the changes to the list sound perfect also I really love those daleth, but one should be enough and you simply cant have it all!

General question: I really like the idea of playing with a lot of FOs und Spotlight Hackers to use the Samekh. Is it worth it or is it too order intensive? expecially after the 15 order cap?

This is the updated list, had to change mk2 from sniper to hacker to make it work pointwise, so a little low on heavy weapons now...

I've attempted something similar, but I found that I focused too much on my active turn and got my butt kicked inwards by a competent rambo piece. Not enough roadblock.

Sadly the HD on the Mk2 is no more.

What do you mean? The mk2 still has both a hacker and a sniper profile.

What they do no longer have is access to hidden deployment. I see how HD could have been confusing there, since it could stand for hidden deployment or hacker device.

Oh, yeah, silly me. I do understand the decision of not letting us have having powerful hidden deployment units that don't cost us an order like they usually do. But it was a massive hit on the mk2 hacker.

The Dasyu is *so* expensive too. So it's hard to have in a list.
