Wait...USA is shelved? I thought the sectorial was still in production due to USA being a popular sectorial people buy into like JSA is. That is a good point that I have noticed. I thought by lore standards it was the Russians sticking it to the Americans by not lettign any of their troops into Kosmoflot. Perhaps it is also that Caledonia is easier to control or that because of Teseum mines Caledonians had more influence on the Kazaks than the Americans. Perhaps a single uniform color scheme with a colored stripe or other clothing that harkens to the unit's home country?
Apparently I'm wrong. There are still 14 entries in the CB online store labelled USARF (inc. Wild Bill and two generic Ariadna entries of Support Box and Mules). Can't say on the popularity - it is certainly more popular in the US for obvious reasons (and memory serving me, it was designed that way - smart move on the CB part), we had but a single USARF player in my meta and he became scarce before I had a chance to have a game with him (moved out of town for univesity, IIRC). I stopped following the fluff with N4 hitting the shelves. For pragmatic reasons: N2 and N3 books I had all of them, and they were hardly ever looked into after the initial read. And becoming a dead weight with edition change. Could do the trick. However, I'd prefer to have some miniatures on my workbench when trying to figure it out. Looking at them on a screen just isn't the same.
I guess you are right on that account. Understood. Many people just want the rules & enjoy it when the manufacturer provides them by itself. Agreed on that. Painting in person will produce much more actuate results than screen staring.
Okay, we have Naga, Shaakti and Apsara: Spoiler: more of them Next on the workbench: Rudras GunBot. I just can't get to start it... but, alas, I will. :P
@Errhile Another set of minis to check off the list. Looking forward to seeing the remote all painted up.
Ah, but absolutely. Finished it yesterday, still no varnish on it. Spoiler: More of Rudra An absolutely awful model to put together and paint, a lot of nook & crannies difficult to get to - and that with even just a partially assembled one (legs as one module, the rest of it at the second). Expected next stop - Dakini SWC & Deva Spitfire box. But that'll be next month, I guess - it won't make it to me any sooner probably.
You guys think anybody would consider a breakdown of the paints used? I mean, I don't have much painting to do for the next two or three weeks anyway, I could write that down.
Well, seems it's been a while. But I have the Dakini SWC box today: Spoiler: More Dakini Next - Deva Spitfire, Asura Hacker & Dart. But I guess that'll be mid-May.
No. Pacing myself to have anything left to paint next month :P The pack with these 6 models landed on my doorstep Thursday afternoon, and nine days later, on Sunday, the three you see were already varnished. The other 3 got cleaned, based, assembled and undercoated too. I guess I could have thme done by the end of the May long weekend (May 1st and 3rd are national holidays here, so it is not uncommon to take May 2nd off, too...) and that without exerting myself...
...and yeah, the long weekend in May is gone, and with it the rest of the batch: Spoiler: More of the girls ..off to occupy myself with other projects, until a next batch of Aleph shows up on my workbench!
Looking good! Now you just have the inevitable deluge of new Aleph minis that are on the way… trying not to buy them as I have haqqi to do but that Marut isn’t making things easy!
Oh, I assume Marut will turn up on my workbench. Sometime, somehow. As for Haqq, welll... that's something that will come, too.
Oh my... it was back in May? Well, I have a next batch done - Kiranbot, Arjuna Spitfire and Naga Hacker: Spoiler: More of them: The other half of the Arjuna box - plus an Asure w/Spitfire - are in the works, so they should show up here shortly. Also, given the Op: Blackwind is coming, I expect some Steel Phalanx to make it to my workbench this fall...
Well. The promised 2nd batch this month: Spoiler: More of the gang Spoiler: Don't trust the Black Labs ...now that's not a part of the project, just a model I painted for teh lulz. Will make do for a HVT in my group's objectives box, I guess ;) Seems I'll be waiting for the Op: Blackwind Aleph, now.
Looking sweet! I will await the plethora of SP Aleph minis that will be coming from the new box. I decided to leave Aleph alone, my friend does that army do he’s welcome to it. (Also an excuse not to empty my wallet).
@Errhile Congrats on finally getting the Blackwind box. Is the Beyond box & the rest of the foreseeable Steel Phalanx releases going to be a part of this commission?
