New rule for pure fireteam says...

During both the Active and the Reactive Turn, the additional Bonuses are:
► Three-member Fireteams: All get a +3 MOD to their Discover Rolls.
► Four-member Fireteams: All get a +1 MOD to their BS Attack Rolls. This Bonus is applied to Throwing Weapons but not to Technical Weapons.
► Five-member Fireteams: All get a +1 MOD to their BS Attack Rolls. This Bonus is applied to Throwing Weapons but not to Technical Weapons.

The new rule for any fireteam says...

    FIVE MEMBER FIRETEAM BONUS
◼ All the Fireteam members applies a +1 MOD to their BS Attack Rolls. This Bonus is applied to Throwing Weapons but not to Technical Weapons.

    Latest FAQ says...

Does Discover benefit from the Targeted state? Yes, it does. Discover says to apply the same MODs as in a BS Attack.

    The old fireteam rule said...

    Five Member Fireteam Bonus
In the Active Turn, the Team Leader applies a +3 MOD to their BS Attacks, including those made with Throwing Weapons but excluding those made with Technical Weapons. They also apply a +3 WIP MOD to Discover Rolls.

Does a 5 man pure fireteam gets a +6 bonus to Discover?

Also, it seems like based on the FAQ, literally everyone I know always played the rule wrong and we always had +6 to Discover?

This seems unarguable RAW, but this also seems like a massive oversight to me especially considering the wording of the previous rule for fireteam.

Because of extremely stubborn players, I unfortunately need to ask if this is intended. @Koni @HellLois @ijw

Edit: Seems like the example here makes it abundanly clear of the intention.

(The example is also present in the latest FAQ)

    Thanks.

ah so that is why someone responded to me that the problem only appeared since faq 1.2.
I maintain that rule as written, the problem was already there in N3 rules (yet everyone locally was playing it correctly as a single +3 for both 4-men teams and 5-men teams). N3 rule for Discover is written clear as day that Discover applies the same MODs as in a BS Attack. Which N4 FAQ 1.2 is merely repeating.

As pointed out in the linked thread, the HSN3 version wasn't an issue in part because the HSN3 example which spelled out what the bonuses were:
    Fireteam Example. Support Skill:
During the Active Turn, a Fireteam of five Zhanshi declares the first Short Skill of their Order: Move. The Team Leader is a Hacker, so he declares Hacking as second Short Skill of the Order. This is a Movement + Support Skills combination. In this case, the Team Leader has not declared a BS Attack, so the rest of the Fireteam members cannot provide any bonus. Moreover, the other Zhanshi are not Hackers, so they will instead perform an Idle, and the Team Leader is the only one who acts. But, even if there were another Hacker in the Fireteam, this Trooper would not act either, and the Team Leader would not receive any support.

With the next Order, the first Short Skill is declared: Move. After checking Coherency, and the adversary's ARO declarations, the player declares the Second Short Skill of the Order: BS Attack. Once again, this is a Move + Support Skills combination. The Team Leader and the members of the Team move, but the Team Leader is the only one who performs the BS Attack. As this is a Fireteam of five models, the Team Leader gets a +1 B MOD, and a +3 BS MOD.

If the Discover Skill was declared instead of BS Attack as the second Skill of the Order, the Team Leader would have been the only one to perform the WIP roll, receiving a +3 WIP MOD.

In any of these cases, the remaining Fireteam members were susceptible to AROs from enemy Troopers. In these cases, the opponent would perform Normal Rolls, because the Fireteam members could not perform any roll.
As clear as day, it's the same situation as N3 Spotter's redundancy.
This Special Skill automatically provides the associated trooper a bonus MOD of +3 to the BS and WIP Rolls when declaring BS Attack or Discover, respectively.

So... to make a conclusion... The pure fireteam with 4 model get +2, +3 or +5 bonus to discovery roll. And why?

well it used to be +3 because the example made us understand that you get a single +3 and not +3+3. But since the example was removed in N4, no one understands that it is +3 final.

Oh wait, what is this on page 14 of the new annex pdf ?

Sounds like they are saying the same thing as in N3. BS Attack at +1B and +3 BS; and had Discover been declared it would have been +3 WIP. And that example is specifically for a 5-men link with Comp Bonus.

But that's before the Fireteams changes, right? If yes, it doesn't help much :(

    Then it seems settled, thanks!
    +3 to BS / +3 to Discover, no +6
Nice little bonus though that you can get the +3 to Discover for pure FTs of 3-4 members.
