What miniature game has this?? 40k and AoS have units people never take. X wing has ships people never fly. MCP has heroes people never take. Warmahordes, malifaux, killteam, all have this. Please enlighten me on this game system that is so well designed and so balanced that their are no units like that?
Visually? Absolutely. From a gaming perspective? She's MO Machinist. Good thing I'm already used to PanO not getting much in way of really new capabilities, Karhu and Vargar being outliers here.
*in the voice of solid snake* Metal Gear!!! Showing my age there, lol. But yes. It’s damn sweet. I really like the look of it. And another panoceania mini gets added to my collection… damn it. Need more Antenocitis bases for her now.
"All / most big game studios design with chaff units to sell more models, so design without chaff models is impossible / should not be seen as a goal" is a hell of a fallacy. Way to excuse lazy design "because everyone else also does it". Also, as an example? Warlord Games, in Bolt Action. There's barely an actually shit unit, even in the thematically shit tier armies like Partisans. Either you can spam it or upgrade it or do something interesting with it, there's always a way to salvage even something really shit. Some armies like Soviets rely on shit tier units like conscripts or penal units in some of the rosters. Same for siege of Berlin Germany and Levy / Youth. And CB can design a decently balanced game. They made Aristeia, they have zero excuses.
@atomicfryingpan Dartok is a decent unit for what it is an update to the basic morat vanguard hacker. @Stiopa Yes, visually, although she is something new, she is a second engineer. @Nuada Airgetlam Chernobog profile is in the previous page.
Wow, more troopers with NBW... Such a stupid and overused rule in the latest releases. Corregidor already has very competent close combatants with bandits, jaguars and senor massacre. This is simply not even funny anymore... I can't imagine that these additions where asked for.
Love the Metal Gear Ariadna Tag, even if it looks a bit lackluster/expensive rules wise. The other dossiers look fun, too. Sad to see that the Patchers got what I had hoped they'd give to the Jujaks. Come on, give them Immunity: (Continuous Damage) at least :P Not sure why there is more Corregidor stuff coming again, they were in a pretty good spot already. Also more proliferation of NBW is a bad thing in my book, as CC is fairly restrictive as is. Gator looks like an example of "Nomads can do it all" design philosophy. Why make him a CC expert with E/M when that should be JSA territory? Why NCO? Gator: 76 points Ariadna TAG: 72 points O-Yoroi: 75 points Guijia: 82 points Something is very off in that calculation. Then we also have a berserking regular Warband with NBW masked as a HI so they can get a free berserk – again – in Nomads. What is going on here?
Jaguars on steroids, in my eyes. And Jaguars are already very good in what they do. We'll see, though, how their Fireteam options look like.
In fact, I think they're THE Nomadian Digger. Those aesthetics, a hammer, and his bulk.. besides he's from D-block, it might mean Digger-block anyway
The Nomad prospectors in TAG-Raid are cybernetically enhanced indentured convict labourers, so these guys absolutely seen like the same convicts pressed into combat duties.
NBW, should be a rule exclusive to some select alien lifeforms and special characters. The recent proliferation makes me wonder if the game designers forgot that there is martial arts and that all troops that pay a lot of points for MA are now a lot weaker because of the existence of all these troopers. And as an martial artist myself... The legend that talent beats training is just plain bullshit. If you have talent but don't act on it you don't get good. If you have talent and do train and give your all you will achieve more than someone without inherited talent... So in a way a higher level of MA5 shod be considered something like the talented warrior with training... I am honestly disappointed because 1. It's corregidor which really don't need additional new troopers when there is bakunin in need of some love, and 2. Because it seem uninspired and lazy to just slap NBW on everything without. 3. I mean a TAG isn't even natural it's a mechanism, a big stompy robot how should this thing be a natural born warrior... I now I get worked up because of a skill which in a game mostly composed of positioning and shooting is an edgecase. But damn...
The Diablos from D-Block is making me think they are going to trim down the generic Diggers, and start doing faction specific ones as we get closer to TAG raid. He looks like a modified Digger, his profile is similar to a Digger, D-Block sounds like it could be a mining facility. I doubt the Corgis would get AVA4 across two of these Diablos and two Diggers.
