You know, Infinity is a game of AROs and LOFs, so the composition of the table affects the game quite significantly, and it is one of the biggest factor that forms the local meta, I think. Here's how the tables in our local gaming center look like. I think in overall, they have medium density / equally distributed / and lack of huge BLOS structures. The N4 rule suggests a certain level of guidelines about how to build up the terrain, but I just got curious about how your battlefields look like, and your opinions about them.
Here are a few we have setup for our private games (I don't have a club in the vicinity). They've been quite varied in density..
Hi! Here are some pictures of tables that we setup for the events. More pictures from the events: https://www.facebook.com/infinitylatvia/posts/967010970591536 https://www.facebook.com/infinitylatvia/posts/908537179772249 https://www.facebook.com/infinitylatvia/posts/849331785692789
Here's a selection of my boards, i try to have some variety in terms of density, height etc, I talk about it more on my terrain thread. but I try to make a non urban board to each of my urban boards, the terrain can cross pollinate (the nomad board used to be part of the mountain board and the yu jing board with a load of jungle on it looks baller and plays great) but i try to keep them to themes and generally go with height controlled, area terrain based dense or quite light, i generally prefer denser end boards as I think they look and play cooler I think they're pretty balanced myself can't say i've found a set up where a HMG isn't useful or one where it's a bit too good in one kill nest either. Nomad breaker yard, dense, height controlled (few and very specific points of elevation which grant good kill zones but are themselves flankable or very exposed) zero G theme so it's intended to be played as non penalty inducing zero G areas (so it gives the bonus to movement) Kuramoi fun land, very Vertical big LOS blockers, meant to be played either at road level or across walkways at higher levels, was intended as a biker gang board so bikes are kinda amazing on it. Yu Jing city, mostly just a TT-combat bundle it bleeds LOF everywhere so it's one of the tables that i play buildings as into/out of never through LOF. Has a good mix of elevation and ground level cover. CA Base, elevation and corridor heavy, again height controlled few points on the same elevation (the walls) provide cover vs units on the same elevation. Jungle board, Jungle themed so the entire board is non penalising jungle (only gives movement buffs) uses area terrain which are difficult, low vis, suppression Jungle terrain. the clumps of jungle again are just counted as solid blobs, there are two pieces of elevated standing room on the entire table (roof of the cave not shown is one of them) Warsenal Haqq board, give lots of cover and lots of elevated bunker positions, scatter between the major buildings is pretty light, this board again played as into/out/never through as blocks LOF like a sieve. Mountain board: Entire board mountain with no penalties, then areas of woodland which are Jungle/mountain low vis and suppression, occasionally play the raised areas as mid mountain so they're difficult/low vis but it doesn't really need it. little in the way of chest high walls. One of the new boards i'm working on is a starport, lots of big LOF blockerswith some good elevation. Lava land: lots of LOF blocking but not much to claim partial cover off if your positions are flanked, mountain rules again, there is one area of impassable lava pool (hidden behing the tower in the middle white noise, low vis. Also currently in the works are two desert boards, a swamp/research facility board which will have loads of aquatic/jungle and a big building urban board: played this one last night, roof top to rooftop combat was really fun as was super jumping nourkias and hollowmen between buildings. may yet break this into several boards as it take up the box space of about two and a half other boards. *Edited to use image hosting
Not sure if this is just me, as you got some likes, but I can't see the pictures, even when trying to open them in separate tabs.
This forum and images are a bit of black magic, I can see the images across multiple devices, may just be your browser. As mentioned I have most of those board images on my terrain thread https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/gravitons-terrain-singularity.3298/ externally hosted so they should be viewer agnostic. Otherwise they're probably on my FB blog linked in my sig
I can't see them either, blocked google user content. I've had the same when I linked to images in my Google photos account directly.
As usual i recommend uploading to an actual image host like Imgur or one of it's competitors, the big companies (specially Google and FB) don't want people wandering off out of their walled gardens so if you link to images from them, expect them to break, either now or later. Forum upload also works but not reliably, once in a while it decides it wants a break and won't work
I do, plus they're from FB, in a couple months or so they'll break because the links will "expire" and become invalid
They showed fine for me, but then this forum is just weird when it comes to pictures. And as jherazob said, FB links have a short shelf life.
It has been suggested and I agree that it would serve better in scenery subthread than be buried in the off topic, hence the move, I know here is mostly visual, but tactical and functional is still an aspect of terrain building.
