CB have already let slip they were tossing up between Khanate or redoing QK as the next major Haqq release.
I can hope, guess we will check nearer the time for what begins to go 'last chance' - if it's the bikers then we'll have an idea (and I might have to pick them up finally!).
Nahhh, bikers are safe. They dont fit in Code One, so probably will not go OoP. Halqas doesnt exists at the moment, cant be discontinued. More Gaqbar troops? Hunzakut?
That's exactly what I was saying. If you look at the YJ list for C1, it's mostly White Banner, but not all. If you look at WB in N4, it is majority the YJ models that come from Kaldstrom. The point that I was trying to make is that there will be some new Sectorial that will be mostly the troops form the new box. WIth that being said, with no Bikes in C1, you really can't do Kahnite(sp?) unless they released the "foot troops" first in C1 and then released bike boxes later. Which given the new ITS intent, could be a "thing"...
Do you want them make new troops, that will take years to finally see a figure? Because that's what will happen. They seem to love doing that. As it is, HB hasn't see a figure for Nadhir, Shujai and Yara Hadad. Though I expect her to be in another Spec Ops box with an Aleph and Civilian. I don't know much about Gagbar. Other than Kum, and being highly mobile, what other existing troops would be in it?
Interesting... Sorry not the full quote below as I'm on a mobile... but still, makes things a little curious. Quote dated May 2018. Space Ranger, there are a couple of posts discussing potential units for GK if you're able to find them.
Hunzakuts hail from Gabqar (teritorially, that is) too. Halqa don't really fit your critetia - the don't exist in Infinity tabletop version anymore. They were a thing in N1, N2, and - if memory serves me - N3, although the actual models were late N1. They are still present in fluff. And that's it. Unless Saladin makes it into Gabqar Khanate as well. Oh, and there are four Kum characters: the Nazarova twins, as well as the chieftain they killed & deposed, Kasym Beg. And the one the three of them killed & deposed prior to that, Izzat Beg. Sure, two of these four are deceased, but Cubes are a thing, after all...
So it sounds like they would need to make it from the ground up. They of course could add existing profiles but then it can start to be like all of the others. Halqa were pretty good. In N4 terms, think of them as Ghulam with Forward Deploy +8". I don't see that happening again. The could however see them including Yara Haddad with Strategic Deployment to get the same thing. But so far Gabqar sounds already like Dashat.
Well, they made Ramah mostly from the ground up. Sure, Ghulam were simply transplanted, Naffatun were woven into Ghulam fireteams, Khawarijs were reshaped pretty seriously Zhayedan were made from the ground up Janissaries were transplanted, but their fireteam options are very different than in QK Maghariba Guard were remade Touaregs came as they were Najjarun were transplanted, Drones came as they were, Tarik was remade Al Fasid were remade Characters are new Hakims are made from ground up Namurr are made from ground up Muktar are made from groud up Nahab are made from ground up Hortlak Janissaries are made from ground up, kinda. Shakush TAGs are made from ground up... So, there were some troops that were effectively copy-pasted, some who were remade (granted, there are very few - namely, about 3, if we count the Halqa in - that are available here), and quite a few of those we now consider rather essential to the way RTF plays were made from ground up... More like "+12'" if we were to translate it word by word - a table was always 48x48 back in the day ,and Mechanized Deployment allowed you to put all the models with it up to the centerline. But that's nitpicking from my side :) Does it sound already? I'd say there is far too few troops (Irregular Impetous biker Warband inc. Characters, Irregular Camo Skirmisher, and a memory of forward-deployed light infantry. Plus an old gossip about a "flying bike troop" that CB was testing at some point (intended for the Khanate) to judge on the way it is likely to work...
I think one thing that could be an issue with Haqq, that is becoming (at least for me) an issue for Ariadna in C1, is the ability to fill out a 25-30pts list with troops that actually help teach the game. Haqq, much like Ariadna in N4, have a lot of "cheap" troops. I would assume, that CB would want to put in new troops... remodels, and troops that are 3.5 - 5pts. What would be able to fill these slots that are in current Sectorial list?
Most of the Haqqislam super soldiers are in the 3 point range. But for 3.5+ they could use: Namurr (3.5) Asawira Spitfire (4) Jannisary HMG (4) Azra'il (4) (most likely not going to be in code 1) Shakush (5.5) That probably would be enough.
Actually, I think Azra'il to be a quite good fit for the C1 rules & minatures set. Especially the AP HMG variant. The Feuerbach would be a mite trickier to use, but Feuerbachs do exist in C1 rules already. It is a pretty no-frills, no complicated special rules, nasty big HI with a big gun.
That would mean that Qapu Khalqi would be the sectorial to represent Haqqislam in Code One. Just like how Shasvastii represent the Combined Army in Code One. It makes me wonder with the new Morat sculpts/minis coming out will any Morat units be added to the Code One roster? It seems that each faction should have a little bit of each sectorial's or species units in their faction's Code One rosters. It would better represent the faction as a whole & give you a taste of the flavor your chosen army has in store if you decide to spread out & buy into the force.
I'm not sure how I feel about QK being the representation of Haqqislam - given the number of non-Haqq units (which has made it feel more of a Merc faction to me personally). Just feels odd, personal thing I guess, nothing against QK as a sectorial whatsoever :)
QK would be in the Operation box and Beyond but all the other C1 products can come from any Sectorial, or be universal like the Support and Remote packs
