It doesn’t say it’s made in house. It doesn’t reference where it’s made at all. What it DOES say is that the first final miniature made from the mould is sent to one of their freelance artists. So resin 3D print to mould to miniature.

I’m sorry but unless you provide evidence to the contrary your argument here is incredibly weak and unsupported. This will then be the case for any other arguments you may make in future and calls into question arguments you’ve made in the past for which you’ve not provided evidence.

Oh my god, this is such a boring argument. This is meant to be a thread on a fairly interesting, I’d even say important topic, and it’s literally polluted by useless back and forth on meaningless ancillary arguments.

Hint: except for a few - and I guess mostly one - die-hard nitpickers, NOBODY GIVES A CRAP!

No wonder we get so little new blood on this forum, I’d have fled right away as well if I had come and read anything this useless.

I'd disagree with you. This treat is very interesting in case of teaching others that tree of forum with polite and respectful people, who actually do conversation instead of shouting on each other, should be refreshed from time to time by blood of trolls, it is it's natural manure.
And yet we still have little to no moderation here.

While that does show that some 3D print resin is used for mold production, nothing there says that resin models are sent outside CB for painting.
That says "The first final miniature is then sent" i.e. the first metal minature from the production mold.

On topic more, I'm glad to see that the zondbots are looking good, and that sandpaper cleans them up nicely.

@Nuada Airgetlam Using a resin piece is standard mold making now. Even with hand sculpting, they make a resin cast of the sculpted piece to then make the mold for metal. Otherwise you can ruin the original. And now they digital design. How else do you expect them to make the molds? As of now you can't go right from the computer to the mold. They also say the first miniature is the one that goes to get painted. What do you want them to do? Use magic to satisfy you? Does all of this even matter as long as the end product is good? If you really don't like how they run their business, there's plenty of others.

That's absolutely not the point. None of this was a complaint about what CB do, just a statement of fact and (then) a wish to see unpainted, unaltered Siocast to know what it actually will look like.

I know full well what the industry standards are and what the process looks like, it's psychoticstorm who argued that "there's no trace of resin whatsoever in the CB factory" and then had to shift goalposts several times. And it's him who kept insisting on how I was supposedly bashing CB for doing what all companies do that deal with the same or similar technology. When he couldn't pin that on me anymore, he twisted it into a ridiculous claim of how it's supposedly "frowned upon" that painters paint master copies, when it's an absolute non-issue.

And now it turns out that, in fact, yes, CB does resin cast and 3D print in resin in-house. Gee whiz, what do you know.

Please show me where it states that the resin is cast in house. As far as I can see there is nothing to show where it’s cast. Same for the mould creation.

Good grief, you too with the goalposts? Yeah, sure, when CB say "we do X and then we do Y and then we do Z", they surely do it all in China or USA. Because there's a lot of "them" outside of their single factory in Spain. Come on, this is too cheap even for this forum.

Indeed! Those zond bots look great. I’m hoping the newer stuff will look just as good if not better!

Why is it surely? Unless it’s specifically stated they could be producing it anywhere.

I don’t really care where it gets made as long as it’s made. Gimme my new toys!

What if we’ve helped slaughter and butcher our food before? Would chocolate still be too much, do you think?

The main issue with it really is the assigning of motives as part of the argument. It's not enough to ask for a bare model, he has to accuse CB of being deceitful and having non-production mini's used to represent miniatures. I think we all accept that the painter has polished up the mold lines and such while painting, but we don't need to take it a step further and say that the miniature isn't even the same miniature we can buy. It's tiresome, but I guess there's not much else going on in the forum at the moment, so whatever.

A bit old from 2014 but in the first 1 minute and 30 seconds you can hear from CB, 3D prints are casted into the master molds directly (and the legendary dishwasher revolution) and the master molds makes the metal miniatures that are used to make the normal molds.

I've literally NOT accused CB of that, this was specifically ascribed to my question by psychotic. But I guess this means he managed to manipulate the conversation well enough and you guys accepted what he claimed instead of my message and clear intent.

Imagine being a creature which default setting when engaging with literally anything is bad faith, throwing a fit in 50+ page thread acussing the mod of bad faith while attempting to gaslight the mod by accusing him of being deceitful in his behaviour.
