Personally I find it an entirely reasonable choice given the ongoing pandemic, I am not sure how many tournaments will happen this year, and how many unused ITS packs are out there just waiting to be used, when the chance is given, from the past two years, a pack that randomly repacks previous events miniatures new players may never had the chance to get is not such a bad choice, especially since it has two models or a TAG, and I should point out that it is almost a half price deal.

I "mostly" agree with you. I said earlier that it can even be fun to reveal the contents of the box at the end of the tournament, and it is indeed a friendly product for TOs and thay won't have people competing fixiated on the price.

But again, I'm against lootboxes as a rule of thumb.

Potential contents can be found here, basically anything that was in an ITS box:
    https://human-sphere.com/index.php?title=ITS_Tournament_Packs

The randomised box is a stock clearer. They're going to have variable amounts of each and don't want to manufacture any additional stock. This is one SKU, easy to send through distribution channels and to individual stores, they likely want it to sell out pretty quickly and then drop it from the catalogue so they can start using the shelf space for active products.

This link is where FOMO begins? For example, i desperatly want to add Max Scorpio, Krakot and BH sniper to add to my collextion. As my desire know no bounds, i start with buing 100 boxes, ending with 50 Wild Bills, 20 Parvati, 30 Aidas, 25 Guijas, 15 O-yorois and 10 Jotums. As result, i'll feel that i was dragged by my wishes into risk i would never had taken if only i knew. And i will become very angry and blame CB, although they hadn't promise broken. Which could be avoided with just little transparency. Right now it feels like a kinda trap, preying on addicted ones )

Half price is quite good. Do we know for certain when these will be released? (if I missed it above I apologise).

Agreed for the most part, lootboxes can be a waste. When I had them from warlord though they were excellent value for money which seems to be the case here. Edit: assuming that the value of half price is worth the miniatures inside which should be the case especially if it’s a tag in the box.

I would like confirmation if possible of all the previous ITS packs actually being in the rotation so there is a chance to get any of them. I think some people would be quite upset if any of the minis they wanted weren’t included and there hadn’t been any notice that some weren’t in the lootboxes. (If this has been confirmed and I missed it I apologise again).

They're on the Coming Soon section of the CB store with an availability date of the 24th Feb, same as the other Feb releases.

The CB shop lists the box for 40,- €. This is indeed a good price if you want a gift-box for a touranment. The comic alone is 20,- €. For this price its better than the boxes before. Value for money, but ... if you want it to expand your collection you can still waste 40 (okay maybe you find some nice gimmicks or you want the comic) if the minis inside are already on your shelf. You can still try to sell the stuff.

The description of the box says: The Pack includes two random exclusive ITS miniatures from past seasons or a random exclusive TAG from the Event Packs. So at least you will not got the regular Crane Rank or any of the random blisters from the first ITS boxes ;-)

    Just for fun:

I grab some dice: 23 times for 2 random mins (11): 14:9 chance for no double (I own 4) from the nine are 5 "jackpot" (2 minis I want) 2 a mini I want but also a mini I own and 2 some random stuff I do not have but don´t want so much ;-)

For the TAG: 10 times W4 = 8:2 for no Jotum (and 0 Guijia :-()

Oh man, I forgot you used to get random blisters in the old ITS packs.

That said, CB were usually pretty good at sending along a few boxes and blisters as prize support when I was helping run events in the UK.

I assume you're presenting it as an abstract example, not as a reality affecting you as a person.
    I understeand I risk starting a flamewar.

I, however, remain puzzled by the general idea of FOMO being such a powerful factor. Are people really that much invested into the hobby?
And since they brought it upon themselves - for which I can't see a reason to blame CB for - does it really make sense to blame CB for not conforming with those people's expectations?

In short, it is. Check kickstarter exclusives on most $80+ games, i bet you'd find a lot of examples that it can be used to raise huge money.
It isn't equally powerful to everyone.
It was real example of my own experience, just exaggerated 100 times ) I'm evaluating, do i want one box )
Although a lot of ppl here have their own FOMO experiense I'd bet there are some psychologysts, economists and biochemists that had researched FOMO far better that anyone here )

Understood. Seems I'm the odd one, then.

Yes, I have skipped all of the CB kickstarters. Reason for Definace - which I really liked the idea of - being "okay, how often I'm going to lay it out and actually play it? Once a year, and that's an optimistic estimate. For the price I'd have to pay for it, it is very little return out of a significant investment". Sure, there were a number of models in there I'd love to have for my Infinity armies - and that, at the moment, were said to never be available elsewhere. For the others, a significant issue was "who I am going to play these with?" - givne the rules are somewhat complex, and written in a foreign language (which presents a problem for many of my family and friends- the most likely co-players. The fact CB publishes, say, Aristeia rules in Spanish, English, German & French doesn't really help me in this situation!).

I keep seeing the "loot box" as a surprise box for tournamnet organizers. A niche product in fact. Sure, nothing prevents Johnny the Player from buying a hundred of these, hoping he'll get the single model he craves at a random, but that's not the intended use for the product. And buying it, one should be aware of the randomness of the content - buying such a box to get specific models is, in my opinion, a conscient calculated risk.

Not unlike buying a national lottery ticket: if I do buy one, I have a chance of getting what I want (a ton of money, in case of a lottery ticket). But I am aware that the chance for that is, mathematically, very thin. It is more likely I won't get anything. With CB mystery boxes, of course, you pay way more than the price of a lottery ticket, but you are guaranteed to get something. Just not necessarily what you hoped to get.
So, I need to manage my risk - don't buy the loot boxes (don't spend the money, don't get the models), buy a limited number of these (spending a limited amount of money, ending with a limited number of models I haven't cared for since the beginning, and having a chance I'd get what I want), or keep buying them unitl I get what I want (spedning theoretically unlimited amount of money, and getting a ton of models I don't need in the process, until I finally get the one I wanted).

Just keep buying lottery tickets until you win the jackpot. Then use your winnings to buy CB's entire stock of mystery boxes, and you'll be guaranteed to get the exclusive mini you're looking for. Use the rest of your lottery winnings to buy a big house to store all your new mystery minis.
