INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST: Heroes Outcast Heroes An awesome set of heroes to paint. A nice diverse range of colours and styles to work on.
@archangeleong excellent stuff as always, makes me want those models even more ! I so wish they would sell that 'heroes' collection by itself, I'd snap that up for sure, but still would sell on Raoul hehe.
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Kassandra Kusanagi Kassandra Kusanagi This is hands down the best sculpt of Kusanagi, the best out of the Revenant heroes too. Stoked to add her to my Nomads force.
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: John Hawkwood, Mercenary Officer John Hawkwood, Mercenary Officer Not really sure where this guy fits into my collection, but it turns out that his studio colours (with a bit more emhasis on orange) tie him into my other Mercs collection. I enjoyed contrasting the reflective parts with the matt parts when painting him.
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Valerya Gromoz Valerya Gromoz Had fun working out how to paint cherry blond coloured hair. Chose on overall colour scheme to blend in with my Mercs. the shoulder bag was not cast properly so took a bit of bending and Green Stuff to make it work (I've seen others do better with more cutting but mine is passable).
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Father Lucien Sforza Father Lucien Sforza This guy doesn't seem to belong to any one NAA2 faction. Kept his original colours since he is a padre and the orange ties in with my other Mercs. He looks like a pretty cool gunslinger. You could easily convert him to Neo from the Matrix.
So i got some answers and i want Questions ! it is me or you8r photos got worst or it is a minatures ?? - are they a bit less detailed then "normal ones " a bit "foggy" starange you end up on Uxia with effect of dark angels green washed with black ink when using far superior tech by your selve .. this type of green almost never looks clean it almost always looks like oiled up. and orange colour on recent minis - what's going on there - it is dull .. it is like tomato - is this an old GW orange that got dirty hue ? or just over black base ?? any way chers :)
Thanks :-) Actually I have done a bunch of painting over the last few month (especially the Defiance expansions) but haven't take pictures yet. I'm trying to catch up with the pics Picture lighting has come out a bit strange when I used the backgrounds, plus some blurry pics were taken that I need to replace. Problem is I didn't check the pics carefully when I was taking them because I took so many at the same time and was too lazy to do it.
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Kendrat, Krakot Renegade Kendrat, Krakot Renegade I don't usually get inspired by the alien factions, but I enjoyed tying in the colours of this bulky lady to my Mercs. Still got her prison pants on!
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Jaan Staar, Kiutan Imposter Jaan Staar, Kiutan Imposter I just find anthropomorphic aliens hard to empathize with and am more naturally drawn to human factions. That said I did enjoy this guy with all his bits and bobs to detail. I chose green as main colours for something a bit different to what you see out there usually.
INFINITY DEFIANCE REVENANT: Heroes Quite a diverse bunch to paint. The best thing about defiance has been the huge range of vastly different heroes to work on. Fun but daunting to paint since therew are so many miniatures to get through.
INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST O-12: Kappa Unit Kappa Unit One of the best things about defiance was gettin the chance to start a couple of armies. I left the O-12 minis until last as I wanted to come up with a unique colour scheme. I researched sci fi police uniforms and ran with that. Im quite happy with the muted colour pallete I ended up with.
INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST O-12: Lynx Unit Lynx Unit These guys were a good opportunity to expand and experiment with my police colour scheme. I shied away from painting any glowy bits and just went with white instead. Quite pleased with how those bits turned out
INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST O-12: Saladin Saladin I added a little gold to deliniate Saladin's rank. He is quite an impressive commander. Glad I got an opportunity to paint him.
I'm struggling with dark colors. Your black and navy blue for O-12 look so clean and defined, and yet not that much highlighted. What sorcery is this ?
I just didn't use very bright highlights on the black and blue areas. Black areas: Black grey and grey green used to highlight black clothing and then bit of extra highlight for armour with dark sea grey (all V MC). Blue: Imperial blue (V GC) as a base with black shading, then tiny bit of white mixed with imperial blue to highlight. :-)
INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST O-12: Delta Unit Delta Unit These guys were my favorite to do in the O-12 set. They remind me of the flying cops in Minority Report. I added some freehand, including the Greek letter for their unit name (A little detail I decided to add to all units that shared this naming convention). I also added police red and blue lights to their shoulders. I felt like all my ideas for a police colour themed O-12 converged on the Delta Unit.
INFINITY DEFIANCE OUTCAST O-12: Gamma Unit Gamma Unit The big guy was left till last. I used all the colours and details from my other O-12 on this guy. He is a very cool mini. Reminds me of the exo suits from the game Deus Ex. Infact the police force from Deus Ex is where I drew the most inspiration for my O-12 colour scheme. O-12 are now all done!
