Hello there, Infinity players! As you're all aware, we've recently completed a Kickstarter campaign for an arena battle game based in our deep and rich universe - Infinity Deathmatch: TAG Raid. Having placed all our passion and effort into it doesn't mean that we've set aside our main product: Infinity. That's why we want to tell you that we're working on something that's paramount to the game's health: a living rule book. This means that we're working to update the rule book with every FAQ and errata that has arisen during this year N4 has been live, in order to have the rules PDF as complete as possible. The release of this revised rule book, which will come as a completely free update via PDF, will take place sometime during the first quarter of 2022. Before the release of the updated rule book, we can confirm that we'll have a new edition of the FAQs by the end of January and that we'll resume the normal FAQ publication schedule once we've updated the rules. Likewise, we can tell you that we foresee the new Fireteam rules arriving sometime before summer of 2022. Thank you all for your support and your passion for Infinity!
N4 leaving Beta! How long we've waited for this. Looking forward to see if it was all worth it in the end.
This is great news, even though a bit overdue. Looking forward to the update, Fireteam rules especially. I have a question regarding the update: Would Infinity Wiki be also updated at the same time as Living Rulebook? Also, what is the current status of Infinity Wiki? After IJW's silent disappearance I couldn't find any information about the Wiki. Is it still being maintained and up to date?
@Koni This is a very welcome move, if indeed overdue. Glad you have the resources now to do it. My very strong request would be for the release of a separate "patch notes" PDF file documenting precisely what text changed and where. There will surely be missed entries, mistakes made, typos, FAQ questions which are unresolved or have a semi-resolved status. This is the nature of the beast when adjusting such a large document, not a diss on the editing difficulties. It will be immensely helpful for the community to help you in tracking changes and proofreading again. Since this is purely digital, after releasing this N4 2.0, we can help you in developing 2.1 and so on, there will necessarily be mistakes which will require an errata. It's normal, but the text and the changes made to it need to be transparent to us. Otherwise it will be a futile effort nad we will be forced to hunt down the changes ourselves, very likely missing some of the changes and how they influenced the ruleset, not to mention some of the mistakes slipping by.
I don't think this is a place for wishlisting rules changes, they're only applying existing FAQ and rules interpretations to N4's main text.
Eh. Yay, I guess? Maybe after that they'll send someone to update Defiance FAQ On the other hand, I hope they'll hire a guy who made offline Infinity Helper for Android a few years back. It was a really good app.
roadmap for patches means that Infinity is finally a cyberpunk game /jk hopefully after that much development time we wont see anything that would be broken open in an hour by community
I can't rejoice enough! Such an excellent move, I must say. Thank you for making this decision. Spoiler Time to eat some greens and be healthy!
Living Rule Book is a very good idea. Could work for Infinity if the new passages are highlighted in a different color like in the FAQ. Fireteam rules seem a bit late, but okay they work at the moment with some crazy (B6) exceptions. Maybe we see some profiles - like So-Ra - changing in a way that it matches the contend of box/mini. Currently the Combi/Flamer So-Ra could not be equipped with the tinbot, which is in the box and can not be played with any of the models inside
I think they're trying to say side tracked, not forgotten. Hopefully infinity is back on the menu for 2022!
Excellent news. Please ensure a change log is part of this revision along with version numbering to help ensure we all know what the most recent version is.
