Hi guys, Thought I'd share a list I'm having a bit of fun with right now. Pater Noster ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 6 KNIGHT HOSPITALLER HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 41) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 41) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 22) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Missile Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (2 | 32) JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 51) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MACHINIST (Father-Engineer) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) 5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army It is extremely fast and hard hitting. Basically the aim is to overwhelm the opponent with quality heavy infantry. The first five knights form a fireteam. I spend most of my orders on these guys, punishing any weakness in the opponent's position, and getting into a good defensible place or onto an objective. The three spare magisters hoof it up the board, dodging and panzerfausting as needed, using first their Impetuous order, and then Joan's coordinated order. The idea is to leave them in annoying places, and frustrate your opponent's plan. Because you can do this without much order expenditure, you've got the resources to really push your link team, or stealth a magister into his back line with his shotgun. Joan gives you a good chance at first turn, and you can't have your orders nicked. I'm playing about with variations on the list - most people prefer Joan Version 1 I think, but I like V2 for second/third turn rambos. You can drop the machinist and bots in favour of an EVO hacker to give a bit of hacking-protection (and to be, if needed, a source of extra panzerfaust rounds). Would welcome other suggestions. Obviously, for missions needing lots of specialists, this list is going to be a challenge. But it's super fun, and, well, taking nine of the hardest Warriors of God's Holy Church, and ramming them up your opponent just feels RIGHT. +Deo Gratias+
Quite interesting but a single AHD/HD might give you trouble ;) Also obviously only for non-button-pushing missions :)
The trick is to try keep your fireteam far enough back with lanes of fire to their approaches. If the magisters up in the thick of things, they won't care if they get isolated too much, and they can always reset. EVO hacker in place of the machinist is maybe a better shout, as I never seem to spend any orders on getting him up the board to help.
EVO is more expensive than your Machinist + 2 bots so you'd have to make cuts elsewhere, but a Sergeant Hacker would fit the bill.
Yep, exactly one of the extremaly rare occasions where taking OS HD instead of plain Fusilier HD makes sense.
That's an interesting little list. The biggest fun would be making opponents sweat selecting between watching their ARO units evaporate in the face of Hospitaller Knight HMG fire or hiding and letting the Magisters charge across the board unopposed.
Just drop the DA swords to AP on the magisters. Might be worth it for the EVO if you end up going second.
I want to remind you that even if you take EVO you cannot activate Fairy Dust with Strategic use of Command Tokens, you are only allowed to trigger one of the "EVO Gadget" programs this way.
I was think Kaleidoscope actually, but yes - that wouldn't work either because it only provides a firewall to hackers. Order Sergeant it is, I suppose.
I've actually been running this 10 heavy infantry──────────────────────────────────────────────────10 6 MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 22) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Lieutenant Spitfire, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 44) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 41) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 37) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) 3 SWC | 300 PointsOpen in Infinity Army Yeah, purely objective focused missions suck. But two tough specialists and 2 potential 5 man links, with enough replacement magisters to fill back up diminished links. 10 HI with stealth to murder their way accross the board. What's more Santiago have duo natively and can start movint up the board rather efficiently to keep up with unlinked magisters. The impetuous orders also give this list a deceptive amount of orders.
I played a similar list right after ITS9 dropped, but instead I had a Hospitaller HMG, 4 Magisters, 2 Hospitaller Doctors, the Santiago Spitfire LT, Santiago Paramedic and a lone Fusilier as an LT decoy. It was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had playing Infinity. Can not recommend more. Also was hilarious because my opponent played a 10 Order Corregidor list with the Brigada pain train and a Gecko.
I don't know. Depending on terrain, it just might. And Pain Train is more flexible than it's MO version. This is something I used last Thursday against Steel Phalanx: Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 3 DE FERSEN Lieutenant Spitfire / Pistol, Templar CCW (AP + Shock). (0.5 | 25) MACHINIST (Father-Engineer) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army My dice failed me hard, but the list itself has the potential. I might roll it out again and see how it goes this time. And I'm looking for a way to have fun playing MO again. It's difficult sometimes.
Oh, it didn’t. He managed to gun down the Hospitaller HMG in his 2nd turn, and broke the link, which was actually beneficial for me. The Magisters just ran amuck for the rest of the game and Coordinated Panzerfausted the Gecko. It ended up with Corregidor in retreat going into round 3 and a hilariously low score of 1-0 (I don’t recall the mission). Still the most fun I’ve ever had playing Infinity. I’ll have to bust the list out for a Direct Action tournament sometime.
