I'm looking at fixing up my QK models. I already have the Old Druze and the Druze KHD. I'm tempted to pick up either a box of Kapan or new Druze box to split to cover both options. I doubt I'll ever play a full core of either. I figure either a duo of Druze, or a haris of Kaplan at most. I might sacrifice the old druze sculpts for a head swap on Kaplan bodies. The Druze hacker is definitely on my list of playable profiles. I may just use my KHD model. The Druze grenade launcher is also on the short list. The Kaplan sniper appears to be solid. I want to say the Engineer ADL. I've only played it a couple time in N3, but found it lacking. Now with Fiddler as an engineering, I see it hitting the table less frequently. Also the Kaplan sculpt for the ADL looks like a grenade launcher. What do you guys use?
I'm still new in QK. But KTS engineer/spitfire/wild bill or KTS spitfire/leila/wild bill are good haris. Druze don't have haris option. My very first TTS league had a druze core and it wasn't great (my first league, so should not give much weight to that experience, but i have never played druze core again). I tried druze duo but I don't really see the point in moving up the pair. It is like spending orders on moving a solo specialist but then accompany him with a gun. Or moving up with a solo gun and drag a specialist with it. My point is I play sectorial, I don't move solo piece if they are only average. The specialists options for the duo are the two hacker loadout, and the true wildcard leila and rouhani. But as true wildcard, they can tag along other ft:duo muscle such as the azra'il. Druze have veteran, so they are good hacker for that, but which weapon loadout will come along ? HMG ? SMMR ? I guess ft:duo on druze could also work if you want to bring two specialist up-field.
KTS are the better pick, I'd say. I've tried playing Druze in N3 and N4 but they are either an expensive and underwhelming Core (you can check a batrep on how they performed here) or as an actually not that bad Duo. A lone Druze Hacker is not a bad deal, mainly because of pitchers, and if you want a killer-type model – Shock Marksman Rifle seems to be the most optimized loadout for that thanks to how well the X-Visor works with MRs. It's a real shame they can't form a Haris in QK, if they had – I would have played them more often. Their Viral Pistols used to be a decent weapon against Shock Immunity back in N3 when it didn't save your models against Viral ammo, now it's just a good close-range face-to-face weapon. Even if you use them as a Duo, QK already has a better Duo option thanks to Sekbans who can join pretty much anyone and provide them with an NCO order for extra mobility. Kaplans don't hack, but they don't need to, they are killer-type models thanks to Mimetism. You want to shoot with these guys, and both Spitfire and MSR are good for the job, both Core and Haris. You can also do the body-toss types of lists with Kaplans and Janissaries, making so that you can have Jan Haris + Kaplan Core or Jan Core + Kaplan Haris. Kaplan Specialists are irrelevant in QK because you have cheaper wildcards like Leila and Rahman that can join them and push buttons just as well. HRL Kaplan seems iffy, not a bad option for a cheap Haris, but you cannot out-range people, unlike MSR. They are also a great vehicle for the one and only Wild Bill if you want to actively use them in midfield. So if you are torn between Druze and Kaplans – I'd suggest you go for Kaplans. I feel like your lone Druze Hacker is the most you're gonna get out of them in QK.
I'm finally getting around to fixing up my QK. I grabbed the Kaplan box. I figure I'd keep the Sniper and Engineer models as is. the sniper can be usable as a djanbzan. I've got the old djanbzan sniper model but the gun broke. Plus while the pose is cool, but I don't like the sculpt in general. Then use the extra models to kit bash some custom druze with newer weapons. A friend 3d printed some weapons for me. I'll keep the KHD as is, and make a custom GL & marksman druze. That should cover any playable list I can think of.
The druze gained haris today. also the druze cheif arslan was added but he's quite expensive (he has MSV1 and NWI). Also the interdiction of hafza/oda/sekban to joint while true wildcard like leila/rahman could join; is finally dropped. So you can use them more easily in a core (but such core is only +1 BS instead of +3).
