I don't think it's going into retail production, I think they're just selling off the extra copies they had. Probably stock they had in case of mispacks or pledges lost in shipping.

Hackers, engineers and remotes are not getting an specific profile like TAGs & Prospectors. You can use them as proxies for your armies :)

Exactly that. As soon as we finish with all the late pledges, we'll check what we have in stock and sell it.

With the stipulation that I have not yet played it myself, but read the awful, awful manual and watched / read a lot of gameplay reviews, as well as the huge unresolved question / errata thread we can all see, the result was "instructions unclear, task failed successfully".

The game seems to have huge balancing problems, either being nigh impossible to finish with ever respawning hordes of max aggro enemies, or at points being a breeze, as long as you commit to specific metagame tactic that has zero relevance to in-character board situation or supposed playstyles. Some characters seem to be not only autoinclude but absolutely essential for even a chance to survive and finish tasks (hackers), others are reported as lackluster or even useless.

There's also a single set of missions, you go through them and it's done. Blackstone Fortress not only has a huuuuuge campaign with a multitude of expansions, but also a game mode which is basically "unending dungeon crawl", so the replayability and longevity of the game is much greater than a single set of a dozen of missions and you're done.

There also seem to be some story related issues, people have complained about a very disappointing "twist" at the end of the game, though I have no idea what that is as I didn't want spoilers.

Eh, but I guess it really should have more depth than identically statted TAGs and "run around cover and shoot at each other and the beastie"?

It's sort of the entire point of kickstarter really, and CB is using it well. "We have this game we think might be fun, but not sure if it'll sell well enough to justify it". So, however many it sells, justifies that many being sold and the more units moved the more that can be included for the price.

Plenty of kickstarters fail, and honestly the big franchise kickstarters are often cheaper to get at retail after launch than during the kickstarter, especially once you factor in shipping costs. It's just whether you really want that 75th special zombie along with the other 74 that retail gets.

Main issue with this for TAGraid of course is that it's limited nature firmly removes it from being a game-store play. It'll just be something you pull out for a fun romp with the friends at home. At least the mini's investment has some use in Infinity.

Not sure what you mean, it's MDF terrain, with "prepainted" print on it. Looks good for what it is.

For the mining game, I can see the case for having the base TAGs be similar. They are are basically all made for the same role both from a gameplay and narrative perspective. Plus, differentiation seems to come from the different weapon pick ups.

For N4 Deathmatch, I would assume more differentiation, perhaps by having more intrinsic skills. But I am rather good with "run around cover and shoot at each other and the beastie?" Not everything has to be intensely tactical or strategic. If I want that from CB, I have N4 proper. If I want something sporty and competitive, there is Aristeia. What I don't have is something beer and pretzels-y (I think as I haven't played Defiance). Hard to play N4 while tipsy and food-coma'ed.

Especially as far as printed MDF goes. For once, the grey unprinted border doesn't clash much due to the color scheme.

It doesn't fit too well, with gaps on the corners. Making what looks like meant to be a drill out of 3 mdf pieces also looks lame. There are no obvious ladders, so it is immediately awkward for N4 play...

Good to see it clearly explained, looks like Infinity players will need to unite around some backers in order to get aditional miniatures.

MDF or card? For that pincer only? All items?

I wonder if KS forces the 10 euros pledge as non removable. It does not mention how many in that level, anyway.

Core pledge is currently at 208 (concidence? "out of pledges" reported as 207...).

What do you mean? I pledged 1 EUR, is that not enough to get late Pledge Manager? What does "out of pledge" supposed to mean?

Read above. It seems you have to buy one of the two packs in PM, so just postponing the money transfer from end of campaign to PM phase. It's the obvious reason I see (other than KS forcing it) to keep "Pledge without a reward" level, IMO. Because otherwise, if only Core and Platinum are valid in the end, it just adds confusion.

^ This post has the "207 out of pledge" thing.

Oh, I thought that was the whole idea, not to have to commit to a Pledge right now, but when they reopen the Pledge Manager for a month or so.

Yeah, but the new information (I believe, i've not been following closely but I did look when it launched and didn't see it said anywhere) is that you have to get either the core pledge or platinum pledge to be able to get the add on's - you can't just pledge 1 currency and get just add on's in the pledge manager. I was thinking about maybe just getting the dragon because it's a cool model, but i'd have to get the full game too, so I won't be.
