So I made a silly purchase today. I went to my store looking for a secondhand Haqq model or two, and walked out with a bunch of Morat instead (they were 40-50% off). I have always liked the aesthetic of Morat, but have no idea how to play them. So what can I do with my haul? Suryats (and HMG blister) Rodoks (and HRL blister) Yaogats Raktorak Treitak Anyat Ikadron/Imetron Zerats Sadly they already sold their Daturazi and Vanguard before I got there. I was wondering if y'all could help me understand what I got and how to build with them?
The first step is proxy something as datz. The second step is proxy something as a Rasyat. The third step is proxy something as Kornak. These are the clear winning profiles in MAF as far as I'm concerned. But I'm not experienced with the faction, in fact I came here to ask the same thing and am kinda sad there are no replies (forum = dead!)
hej, i think you have to be a little bit more patient. The Forum isnt dead in my opinion, members reply in 2-3 days - it‘s not social media ;)
Some additional remarks... - See https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...new-post-third-offensive-morat-tactica.26693/ for some good advice. - Put your models together while you wait for advice. - Read through the pinned thread again, concerning what the models you bought can do. - Ask yourself "When am I going to buy my Raicho?" and "When am I going to buy a drone box?" - Ask yourself "Which boxes do I have with a hacker profile, or a basic profile I can use as a hacker?" Disclaimer: Morat Social Media is part of the Diplomatic Corps.
With the first two Items on the list (suryats and Rodoks) I might actually consider moonligting in OCF: ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 SURYAT (Lieutenant [+1 Order]) Heavy Machine Gun ( | TinBot: Firewall [-3]) / CC Weapon, MULTI Pistol. (1.5 | 45) SURYAT (Multispectral Visor L1) Heavy Rocket Launcher ( ) / CC Weapon, MULTI Pistol(+1B). (1.5 | 35) KERR-NAU Plasma Rifle, D-Charges, Pitcher / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 27) RODOK Heavy Machine Gun / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 30) RODOK Missile Launcher, Light Shotgun / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 31) RODOK Combi Rifle, Light Shotgun(+1B) / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 26) RODOK (Paramedic) Boarding Shotgun ( | MediKit) / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 24) NOURKIAS (Hacker, Killer Hacking Device [UPGRADE: Total Control (+1 Damage)]) Breaker Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse ( ) / Pistol, Vorpal CC Weapon, E/M CC Weapon. (0 | 47) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) Light Flamethrower(+1B), Flash Pulse / Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 9) ÍMETRON . (0 | 4) 6 SWC | 278 Points Open in Infinity Army Otherwise, Suryat paintrain core (with Kornak and the raktorak) maybe a spot of rodok haris, will second above getting a raicho and obviously Daturatzi, Anyat is a good buy as well (which i saw you had) and can cover for a lack of datz. As mentioned you've actually got the start of a nice Onyx list, the Rodok core is IMO better in Onyx as you can add in a samaritain which covers many of the teams weaknesses and synergises with super jump. Suryats are just good now (even if they are not phy 14 which irritates me beyond measure) Rodoks are better than people credit them. super jumping mimetic HMG or ML is not to be sniffed at especially with +1B Anyat, great unit, often just a bit squishy for an aggressive HI wildcard Zerats, I never use them (lone marker stateless infiltrators) but they are good. Yaogats, Better than they were in N3 with some dangerous profiles, really need pairing with Daturatzi to get their full worth and they are squishy for the points. a yaogat is however one of my go to morat Lt choices in the absene of Kornak or the suryat Lt2 bullet hose. Stuff you haven't got: Raicho: God of TAGs. for a force without midfield shenanigan's the mine dispenser may as well be plated in solid gold, drop a pair of mines on 17's restock with your Ikadron, the heavy shotgun while no longer as Bulls**t as it was with an impact template cares not for your visual mods and otherwise is still a gun which is probably hitting on either 17's or a 20, slightly resistant to hacking (which stacks with any firewalls you can give it), resistant to crits 10/10, also contains a fast specialist, star of faction. Sogarat: good, but not a Raicho. Kornak: the obvious LT and first wildcard into most suryat Links, doesn't matter he's obvious. Daturatzi: pair them with basically anything and they do well, there is nothing to write about daturatzi that hasn't been said Oznat: I don't tend to use them, sensor patrol works for some folk but in most cases you could take a datz instead Rasyats: spitfire or boarding shotgun you can't really go wrong. Hungries: chaff to run at irritating markers or mines Kurgats: shotgun boy can support your raicho pretty well, the autocannon is complained about but is something that can't be ignored, can have servants and can also be just the ticket when you're looking for that last big gun on turn 3 after the intital "flagship attack and ARO pieces kill each other" period of the game.
Sorry to not respond quickly. After almost a week of no response I stopped checking, but I just finished reading through it all and I wanted to say thank you for the response! The tactics thread was pretty helpful to understand what I got. Got some Daturazi on order, and after they arrive and I get some time to play with them I will either get the Raicho or the MAF starter box. Going to have a test game tomorrow.
