About 1K Infinity minis here. Only stuff that broke, where it wasn't supposed, was OiS Spektr Knife. Like 9 out of 10 broke and I went through almost two dozen so I have a large test sample. :P Otherwise not a single instance.

I have to ask... why did you need so many Spektrs?

Yes, because you bended them like someone did with those. Yes...

I was just reminded of why you should never engage a chess game with a monkey.

Awesome heads. Spektrs from OiS are super cheap here, like 2-4€ tops, they have amazing helmets. I used them for many conversions. Also some of these were commissions.

Imagine thinking you're playing a chess game with such stunning arguments as "so what your reportedly bendable Siocast mini breaks in transport and is low quality, metal minis also break!".

It can bent, but not as a contorsionist. It has limits.
Low quality? Only you think that.

-CB should improve the quality of their siocast miniatures.
-Naahh, we're okay with it. Surely they will improve the more they make.
-NOOO, you must blame CB and share my ideas. I'm right. REEEEEEEEEEE Everyone is stupid except me

I personally threw test models on the wall harder than that, I did not encounter any breakages from impact, I can see such small connection as the jackbot snapping in any material rendered.

In any case given we go for anecdotal evidence, I had no issue with Vostocks, or Jackbots, cleaned easy, did not have issues with details.

Now, while we accept criticism, do so without been insulting to people that do not hold your opinion, I do not observe this in this tread and I do not appreciate it so it must stop.

As an IT-tech who has worked RMA - try taking the broken miniature back to the store, when you arrive at the store and have spent 10 minute explaining the problem to the RMA staff, the miniature will have repaired itself using the malevolent energies of pure spite.

First and foremost, any damaged product can and should be claimed as a ticket for replacement and please do include the quality control code.

Secondly, "I had issues with mine, therefore all product is bad, cancel everything" is absurd, especially on issues that would be the same regardless of the material the model was casted, I just pointed out that anecdotal evidence are just that, mine was fine others were not.

The thermoplastic models are a new thing, the initial quality, especially with how fast they were introduced is good, it can only improve from here and this is evident with everything CB has done, metal casting, model making, parts breakdown, 3D printing, paper terrain.

And for those that did buy a Vostok model there is a feedback survey in the box, please do consider filling this.

Interesting... All I can suggest then is that there is some issue with the pellets themselves but that is very, very unlikely. As you’ve noted, parts are breaking in the same places so it’s likely then that these are stress points on the minis. There’s not much that can really be done about it but I would have thought that it’d get discussed in model creation. (It’s likely it was but in certain cases rule of cool wins out over stability)

Oh well. I do hope these teething troubles are sorted out in later models and I have no reason to believe otherwise. I remember the first forgeworld stuff... dark days they were. Things broke when you picked them up. I will reserve final judgement on the new casts until more models have been released.

Not a native speaker, I didn't know exactly how to explain it succinctly.
I usually use pliers to cut the excess of metal, but sometims just twisting the pieces using bare hands and a little pressure separates it from the excess metal; it breaks at the intended point.

I don't know if I've made it more clear or even more confusing :p

Yes, small parts have considerably fewer issues with shrinkage, sinking, and freezing during injection. Larger parts also usually require multi-gating, which can lead to problems if the gates are not positioned correctly (knit lines, freezing, porosity due to low pressure, etc.) On the topic of shrinkage, polyamides shrink 4-5x more than tin - this can be good for mold release, but it also means more thermal stresses and greater warpage if the part is not designed to account for it.

Your English seems quite good to me. I was thinking that maybe you were trying to say that models only separated at the joints when dropped, but it's now clear you were just talking about cleaning up the tabs and vents on the parts.
