Actually its extremely relevant since I feel fucked by the situation. And it's an unnecessary sales technique. You know there's a reason the two sculpts were put in the categories they were. Is a general release mini ever as good as the LE?
I thought the designated CSU proxy was the VIP HVT, it's almost identical to the woman with the guncase, just with a different pose.
I sincerely hope from here on in no one uses the new proxy rules to justify anything ever again. Proxying is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Apart from the Umbra, GR Joan is pretty awesome, and I would say better. She even comes with an alternate head. GR Krakot is pretty cool, so that's a toss up. While the LE Bounty Hunter has the cooler profile, the GR on the bike is way cooler (if only we could get a bike profile). GR Scarface is better. I'm not a fan of the LE O-Yori, I think the GR is better and makes more sense. That's all subjective though.
So you'd rather sit around complaining that you can't play CSU because you didn't get the LE models instead of easily converting LI with the right weapons? That's shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Yes, this is when people should proxy, but people shouldn't be talking like this is something that can only now happen because of the new proxy rules and not extant human decency. I should have been more specific though.
It's a hypothetical. So when unit X comes out and at first only have 1 exclusive for a long time (say Brawlers) you're only going to use that one model (or none, like when Blackjacks and Locusts came out), or you're going to do some head swaps? Are all the people who are then converting/proxying their stuff shit? This was something very common even before the new rules. I get the hate for an Aleph army standing in for CA. That's confusing and keeping it straight would be insane, but things like Brawlers, Krakots, CSUs, Cube Jagers are all just mercenaries that can really be stood in by something similar. Krakots with witch soldier models, and even things like Bashi as Yuan Yuan are so common and almost completely match even without conversions. I do like the new proxy rules in the way that now there is one Locust model, I don't want the one, because I think it's ugly, and I don't want to run multiples off that one ugly model/pose. Instead, I'm plenty happy continuing to run Bagh-Mari models as Locust in NT, as they still match the theme and have about the right weapon loadout. If being able to run what I like and be supported by rules directly from the company makes me shit, LOL, okay bro.
The proxy rules are a shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit alternative for releasing more brawlers or to stick to the example, more CSUs though. Didn't say anything about people who proxy.
But a better power of the consumer is to offer opinions about a company's products and how they may be improved, how the company can better satisfy the customer, and how the company can avoid disgruntled customers. Some companies pay lots of money for this sort of marketing research. Folks in this thread are providing it for the cost of the forum. They do not want to hurt CB, which is what a decline in sales will do. Telling them to shut up and go away is terrible advice. The red veil Ninja is not LE. It is available in the Red Veil box even now, just like the Al Fasid. Two excellent minis, BTW. The ninja is why I did not object to ending up with a Yu Jing army. The LE mini was Space Pirate Jesus a.k.a. The BS Yuan-Yuan. Edit: Not the post #100 I thought that I'd be making.
I've had some luck on eBay a few months back, but after checking my go-to stores it seems you are right. No Ninjas to be seen anywhere :(
The you can use those old JSA models as proxys for other vanilla things/whatever is such a cop out. "hey man why do you have a shikami deployed there?" "oh yeah its actually a Kanren but some guy on the forums said this would make me feel better about the JSA thing" "does it?" "...no..."
So, people aren't happy about the JSA thing? While I don't have a horse in the race, I'm happy that my ISS will get the chance to hunt down some traitors! ;)
Well... they are the same sculpt, but the legs ar repositioned and the arms are different (like on so many "exclusive" vs "General release" models, like the RPG ones). I find the GR Joan badly proporcioned from the official photos. Granted I'd need to hold her to be sure, but the torso proportions are... bad. Too thin. Like she has no internal organs there, or something. Which goes kinda against "looking the part", frankly. And the only good head is the Giraldez's book, the other one is too much like a slimmed Achilles' head... >.< GR krakot is, again, badly proportioned with a biceps that, well, is bigger than his leg. I use Daturazis as "proxies" instead.
