In February, the 2 days Infinity tournament "Furor Teutonicus 2022" takes place on the edge of the Ruhr area in Recklinghausen. Based on the Teutonic lust for aggression described by various ancient poets and contemporary witnesses, we would like to spend an exciting, fun, but also tactically challenging weekend in the INFINITY universe with you. "In the fight they cheered because they hoped to leave life in a glorious and delightful way. Yank here who has made it out to this event before (2018 I think?), here's why anyone considering attending (and weighing whether travel would be worth it) should definitely go: - Excellent players, all very friendly and easy-going (like not a single surly person in there, which is rare for any tourney, even Infinity). Players I encountered all had a good ability to see games as management of multiple resources, even more than a normal tactical style of play, and it made for thoughtful opponents who were fun to play against. - Tight, well-organized rounds. - Lots of beer, dead-cheap, was available the year I went. Good German beer too, none of this southern European stuff that tastes like raisins and gives you hangovers! - Comfy, nearby accommodations. - If you live in Northern France, this is about the same travel time as the actual French Satellite down in Lyon, maybe even less.
