While this sounds like a cool idea, anyone care to clarify why Fiddler's guns are recommended for use as the F-13 turrets when that model comes as a prize? It's like "we're going to use part of your prize for these scenarios, but thanks for playing". I know i could buy some replicas or make some, but it's just the suggestion seems a bit... ridiculous. Am i missing something here?
Because ANYONE can buy an ITS pack - they aren't exclusive to winners. It's not like the CB police will ban you from buying one if your ITS score doesn't qualify you for one.
Also, people that have already won one tournament might play on a second, or even third! Maybe even more!
I know enough people with ALIENS style "sentry gun" pieces - both cast (several official ones) and STL 3d prints that will be "close enough".
The only suitable CB-produced replacements for a marker so far are either Fiddler bots or Defiance turrets and the latter are locked in kickstarter Maybe warsenal or another licensed maker will produce turrets for the season Yeah, I'm going to use 3d printed Portal sentries for sure
I've modified some old Deadzone turrets. Swapped out some spare PanO weapons for the originals. I don't think TOs here will care that much.
I would argue that even RAW, you don't need to use CB minis for the turrets anyway. The rule says "each figure must faithfully represent the Trooper it stands for," which I take to mean that Troopers can't be represented by non-CB minis. The turrets aren't Troopers, so you can use whatever you want. In the same vein, I use minis from another manufacturer as Impersonation markers and have always considered myself to be in compliance with the ITS rules. When the marker gets revealed, it's replaced by a CB model for the Fiday since that's a Trooper, not a marker.
