The best part is that it directly contradicts the rule for Motorcycles. Wiki seyz, "Troopers mounted on a Motorcycle cannot benefit from MODs for Partial Cover." Which is separate from the Impetuous denying the use of cover.
That isn’t the the part that fixes it. Theres two parts on giving cover, one that gives motorcycles the option to get cover and another that allows them to trade away impeteous.
My point was that it instantly creates a "WTF question" that a touch of thought would likely have avoided. Leaving the "Does the Mim-3 stack if you already have it?" question. :P You know, the traditional start of every ITS season. Bring on the maps!
That is answered too, the actual document is pretty clear about its interactions, even with booty too.
So, if I tell enough people that the Su Jian is basically just a bike on legs, can I get the free mimetism too? But, more seriously, if this is the path CB wants to go down, I really hope they have plans to flesh out biker options for factions without that don't just end at the MBH.
Gonna point out that for factions without bikes at all, getting the MBH is a pretty dang big deal. Giving everybody -more- bikes (probably on a permanent basis) wouldn't be well balanced.
I think that, without other changes, balance wise this ITS it's a mess. Armies with bike that cost less than 15 point got a huge buff. Not all factions have a bike and having just 1 MBH won't balance thing. I would like this kind of format for 2/3 months, but for an entire year ?
I don’t expect bike factions to be overpowered at all. Everyone will take bikes but having more than one or two big S4 glass cannons will make your list very fragile. Cover or not a bike will go down in reactive very quickly. Main thing I think is that it will be harder to null deploy if your opponent has a bike specialist that can complete all objectives in just a few orders.
That's why you get the turrets I guess, to defend against the opponents bike. I remember one of those turrets killing half my army in one of the paradiso scenarios...
Seems to depend on the units BS. One of few skills that (often) scale off of basic stats. Aragoto ought to pay 2 points for it and Montessa 3*. I think that for the units that don't have scaling the price is about 2, which is still a steal for how good the ability is. * assuming no extra HI tax
I'm pretty happy with the rules of the ITS having a story to them. It can be a a little confusing and hurt/help some forces but I think it's cool. Now how the hell do I make a Combined Army bike!?
finally have the pdf. The rule are clear. And in a contradictions that shows clearly what overrule what. 2nd paragraph "During Season 13, Troopers mounted on a Motorcycle or an AI Motorcycle can benefit from MODs for Partial Cover." That override the N4 rule for mikes but might supersede or not the impetuous rule (as impetuous ins also a N4 rule). All fixed with next paragraph. "When deploying Troopers with the Impetuous Special Skill and with Motorcycles or AI Motorcycles (and before making any Booty Roll for that Trooper), the player can choose whether the Trooper stays Impetuous and cannot benefit from Partial Cover, or loses Impetuous and can benefit from Partial Cover with no change in their Cost and SWC." So impetuous biker that stays impetuous don't claim cover, but if you drop impetuous then you can claim cover; even on a bike as ruled in the previous paragraph.
