Does the Seed count as being equipped with the same loadout as the selected profile of Cadmus/Seed-Soldier? ie, is the seed of a Cadmus Hacker considered Hackable? There isn't a clear distinction in Army, or seemingly in the Seed rules, about whether any attributes of the armament are shared. The formatting for Seed/Developed Shape mimics that of Motorcycle troopers, and they share equipment across the two profiles... so...
Ok, so the below rules references take care of the KHD and whether it can be targetted by other Hackers - but still doesn't cover the shared loadout. I'd also like to raise issue that most marker states in the book seem to cover off that they are Private Info and benefit from Surprise Attack, but the Seed entry doesn't... It feels like you need to look at everything else in the book in order to understand how it functions. And the below rules functionality that isn't explained and exists outside the actual rules for the skill is one of the most frustrating things to do in rules.
While I'm adding to the list... If a seed is attacked and passes it's Arm/BTS save, does it automatically fail guts? If it fails Guts, it would be allowed to move but this wouldn't cancel the integrity of the Seed state... Is this also intentional?
Bumping as it has been pointed out elsewhere that Seed Embryo is a Token state, not a Marker State... Sigh.
Seed-Embryo isn’t a special state - the trooper is just represented by a token instead of a model because it’s S0.
Yep, which undoes the logic I'd followed to justify how a KHD Cadmus wouldn't be hackable... So therefore, there needs to be some kind of answer provided because the manner in which the profile is constructed is the same as other troops with mixed profiles, and they all maintain the same equipment loadouts across each profile variant, ergo a KHD Cadmus Seed is hackable at Wip0 and a Boarding Shotgun Cadmus seed has a Boarding Shotgun which it can fire at Bs0... because the Seed Embryo rules haven't been written in such a way as to deny this.
I agree that the seed rules need an additional statement clarifying how skills and equipment from their unit options are applied.
