If you want to play it... then you are in the right place: "Panoceania" :) I like the list you posted @QueensGambit , I don't use to split the groups in a such way, but it looks pretty interesting.

About the SWC, back in N3 in Panoceania at least, if you didn't put at least 5.5 SWC points, probably it would have mean that you were doing something wrong, because with Pano was something strange if you didn't catch 6 or more in the first attempt to make a list, but right now, wiht a lot of HI and TAGs dropping the SWC from 2 to 1.5 it is harder to use all the SWC. Many of my classic list for ASA used to put all the SWC in it, because I did a lot of use of the regular minelayer, which costed 0.5 SWC in N3, but in N4 it is 0 SWC, so... where I had 6 SWC list,I have now 5 SWC list, and they are exactly as functional as they were in N3. So, if you put 4,5 SWC or more probably you are doing things well in this N4. Don't get obsessed with use all the SWC available :)

As a "general rule", if you are playing missions focused on killing, then use as much SWC as you can and probably it will the best, but if you are playing missions more focused on "pushing buttons", then probably you don't need all the SWC, at least not in "heavy weapons", instead of useful specialist troups.

    :)

I've run a few lists with a Karhu link and a Jotum. A core Orc list (like 3 Orcs) and a Hospitaller Haris. I use Peacemakers (who work beautifully in Druze), Bulleteers, and Nokken. Nokken have actually done a lot of work for me.

My biggest problem is that I don't have really access to Camo or Jump Troops. There's nothing to hold back a 1st rush that I've been successful with. If I can go first I generally overrun and do well. If I go second, as soon as I lose a scary ARO unit, the whole thing crumbles.

For whatever reason, the army just doesn't work for me and I don't find it fun to play. My games have been consistently one-sided (both ways).

When I play Morats, it's always a dog fight. I lose a lot, I kill a lot and it's a fun game for everyone. Similarly with Druze and Onyx. There's something about SWF (for me) where it's all or none.

I really understand, I have some players around in my local meta, which suffers pretty much the same with Winterforce. The non "suprises style" via Camouflaje, hidden or aerial deployment make Winterforce not funny for them.

The thing about fight agains "a first rush turn" from our enemy it is dependant not only of our forces, board setting comes too into play and has a big weight. I do use of the fugazzi as ARO pieces in my regulars lists, but if I'm playing "jotum" he is my "ARO" piece. Few profiles in game are capables of do a lot of harm to a Jotum with a single burst. Well placed on the table can be a powerfull stopper. Maybe armies with excellent CC profiles + smoke can target the jotum, but we have acces to some visors, so we can shoot throw smoke, even into a CC. The probabilities to harm the jotum are few and we could kill the thread for our "TAG" quickly, making our rival only waste orders without any prize in return. I don't talk to put the "jotum" on the top of a roof neither, but behind that wall, where you can hide "failing the guts roll" probably. Let the enemy deal with the jotum, place your visors to see the CC combat if happens, dont put your engineer or the palbot too far, but not too close. See how the enemy cry triying to kill the jotum... ;)

I have to recognize I'm a player who use few ARO pieces. Mostly expendables like fugazzi, and for the moment the enemy have killed them, it is the time to him to deal with some toff guys + templates, like Liankai or shona. Nobody wants to stay close to this two.

I put all this here for what idea could bring to the others, but if you wanto to continue talking, we can talk via PM if you like, in order to no colapse the main topic :)

thanks, Urobos - don't worry i dont think thats colapsing the main topic - it help's to understand the winterforce and it's possibilities and limits.
I really like another thing i always read between the line, but which is very essential talking about "if an army works or not" - the fun factor for both players! in the end the most important thing...

They are, at least in my community, a great discussion about Winterforce, if it is or not fun to play. If you like to play "toys" like AD, Camouflage and Hidden Deployments, or even a stronght half table, winterforce isn't your place, you will not have any kind of fun, but if you like to play with the fireteams beyond the classic "static shooting tourret", you are in the right place. For this, fireteam play, you will not be dissapointed by Winterforce. It is the way to play it, at least to me. But itsn't an easy "play".

If we talk about how much fun you can have playing against Winterforce, I suppouse this will be the same as when you play against any other army. It is funny to play against a total camo list... ?? I preffer to face "the tasteles" winterforce before any "camo spam", for sure I will have more fun a little dispair ;)
