Are you complaining that 1.) everybody is allowed to buy the model or 2.) every faction has access to it? either case, why is that a bad thing even if it were true?
I personally find it a bit boring to have models that are available across a wide swath of factions. For certain high value units (of which Fiddler seems to be), its not too bad, but cheap models like Libertos and authorized bounty hunters tend to show up all the time. What makes Infinity factions so interesting is that they are strongly themed, so copying one profile across multiple factions effectively dilutes all of them.
If it was available in every faction...MAYBE. But she's available in like 4? I don't think any faction is such a delicate, precious snowflake that sharing a profile with a few other sectorials would ruin the flavor. Maybe that's just me. Let other people have fun with the model too.
I count 9, of which two are Generics. Funnily enough, the closest Ariadnan faction is StarCo. Anyway, the previous figure was available to O12, Starmada, OSS and Aleph. My gripe is that somehow Aristeia characters are coming in droves to N4, so now the question is if they will be peddled out as ITS common prize for AGL and Infinity tournaments, or there will be themed boxes like SoF. Anyway, I find generics a little too bloated, and some sectorials seem to be plotting the same course.
We gor a render for Parvati General release so she should be out soon, Bill was a few months ago. Fiddler will probably get a release soon after the next ITS season finishes, and you can also use the Aristeia! plastics as long as you rebase.
I think my words sailed past without stopping XD I know a Parvati general release will come soonish, and I know there are A! models. What I don't like is to see what looks like all A! characters coming to Infinity, bloating space in the Army.
Of all the mercenaries that the Hassassin Bahram could have selected on their super secret but actually loud killer missions, the Old Man of the Mountain saw a girl on a unicycle and shotgun on a unicycle and decided 'yes, that is our person to safeguard the search for knowledge.'
One should never question the Old Man of the Mountain... Besides, would you believe that sig rep? Agent: "Central, I have a killer monkey girl on a monowheel climbing up a wall" Central:"..." Central (aside):"When was his last chem-screening?"
No one can detect you if you blow them all up... taps head Running "stealth" missions like those perfect MGSV runs;
Me too but I think she compares too favorably to the Namurr as a solo piece. My first thought was she is the child of a Namurr and Monstrucker. Fiddler is faster, has about the same CC, same BS, PH, and WIP, and worse armor (esp. due to Bioimmunity). They have the same Dodge bonuses, both have Climbing Plus and NWI. She has Crit and Shock immunity compared to Total immunity, which are fairly close. Fiddler is an engineer versus generic SO. Her main weapon is arguably worse, but bringing Drop Bears is such a novel thing in Haqq, not to mention an attack peripheral remote with a vulcan shotgun no less. I'm sure I'm missing something crucial in there somewhere, and of course she can't link (but brings a long exploding shotgun unicycles), but I think I wouldn't think twice about proxying a Namurr for Fiddler in HB or QK given the similarities.
Fiddler reminds me of one of my favorite units in the game, the Knight of Montesa Paramedic. Both Fiddler and the Montesa are faster and more murderous than the Namurr, at least on paper. But I've never been very impressed with the Namurr so maybe I'm just missing something.
I've also not been super impressed with Namurr but admittedly I don't field the unit much. She's the most agile super soldier but still only has two wounds (she just can't take both from the same attack) and a worse armament than what you can get on a Khawarij or Mukhtar. Truly just having exploding shotguns on wheels that can roll up walls, detonate enemy mines, etc is the key difference.
I've had a few games with Fiddler so far and she's done something critical each time, including slagging an enemy TAG twice. Very happy with her in Dashat; need to now tinker with lists in Haqq and Nomads.
Shotguns. It turns out auto-landing four DAM14 continuous damage teamplates is a pretty chunky threat even to an ARM8 model (strictly speaking I could also use AP but the overall expected damage out of the templates is a bit higher against ARM8 TAGs thanks to auto-hitting rather than needing to roll 14s, and the potential blowout of continuous damage - switch to AP if the target is out of cover). The trick has been to get Fiddler within 16" to get a good contender engagement (just a winnable F2F roll basically but outside enemy heavy flamer range) to draw fire away from the jackbots so you can land those templates unmolested. I've gotten her into CC once, but it was a last-ditch and her kit really isn't suited to more than opportunistically finishing off a TAG that way just because forcing through the PARA hit is hard against TAG PH and CC and forcing through the D-charges raw is likely to exhaust them all for maybe one hit. As much as she has some CC chops I don't see it being superior to the threat she leverages by just slamming Jackbots into shotgun range most of the time.
