Heya all, been out of the loop and wouldn't really know how to figure the answer for this from the rulebook. I'm just checking some things that I'm dimly aware of 'hearing' since N4 and seeing if they are actually true; - Can discover be declared twice in one order? - Discover is burst two from link teams now? - Could you double B2 discover on the same or different targets? If so, does anything prevent me from declaring four discovers on one model and if so, will a single success remove camo or is there some issue here that I am unaware of? Really excited to run my haris teams up the board and not get brick walled by camo so much lol
Nothing has changed from N3 on this one. Link teams don't give +1B to Discover, but they do give the +3 to the WIP roll. Discover is a short movement skill, so you can declare it twice in one order (1 burst for each declaration). But the two declarations have to be against different targets because "This Skill cannot be used against the same Target twice in the same Order."
Discover cannot be used twice against the same target in the same order. https://infinitythewiki.com/Discover Discover is not a BS Weapon, and does not have a Burst value, so +1 Burst to BS Weapons from Fireteams has no effect.
Probably it has something to do with the option to declare as first half order "discover" and later, with the second half order "discover", because is "like a short movement order", but don't forget about that "clause" you can't do discover over the same target in the same order. (For true, you can only do "discover" once per turn against the same target because or you have succes or not, in both cases you can't continue doing "discover" against the same "marker").
Might've seen N3 tactics resurfacing. The line about not discovering same target twice wasn't there in N3, but had to be introduced in N3FAQ 1.6. Still, nothing's preventing you from declaring Discover on two different Markers. Mandatory disclaimer-reminder: due to all at once, any and all Discover declarations on an IMP-1 trooper will be resolved versus the IMP-1 state (even if it would be certainly interesting if you could do a Discover+BS Attack style where Discover+Discover against an IMP-1 would allow the second Discover to resolve against the resulting IMP-2 Marker only if IMP-1 state was removed by the first Discover.)
Wait, double discover against imp1 isn't a thing? Welp, guess I have been playing it wrong against my friends speculo for over a year :0
