To me it reads that ALL ships are on their way now, only the US is about to arrive soon-soon (tm). They only know when the ships have left (which is weird, those ships are trackable online, just like flights, aren't they?).

I read it that all ships are on the way as well.

Yes all those vessels should be trackable. If you get info from the company sending which ship the container is on :D

Hate to be a debbie downer, but "the ships that have already left China" strikes me as referring exclusively to US/AUS.
And, whilst CB have done some pretty weird moves in the past, I like to believe that even they wouldn't score the own goal of failing to inform backers when a delayed shipment was finally sent out.

I agree that the message is a bit ambiguous, when you read it in Spanish is a bit more clear, but a statement like "Finally all the ships have left China and you will be all enjoying the second wave ......" Would have remove all the doubts.

    Cheers

Small factoid from the Battletech Kickstarter update today, two years ago a 40' container from China to the US cost them $6500.

The current going price is $17000!

I had been looking for info about the shipping issues off and on, and so of course that means the Corporate Overlords seed my news feeds with various stories. So yeah, I've been seeing the lost container stories, the boat-bumping stories, and various other logistical nightmares. Battletech and Defiance both seem to have dealt with it, by I assume paying more. Fantasy Miniatures 1 from Blacklist has already been delayed 6 months (for USA) because of the container/shipping (product all finished in December I think), and just recently announced another delay for SOME of the boxes since they got bumped from a boat. All 3 of them are via Quartermaster Logistics, so I assume Blacklist just didn't want to pay extra at the time and figured it'd sort out quick enough. Also probable that Corvus Belli and Catalyst have some more pull/ contracts with various agencies.

So everything is screwed, some less screwed than others, but I at least have faith in them to get it to me at some point. Unlike Khitai which is 3 years late and the only thing worse than the delays is some of the apologists praising how great it is whenever there's some small update... but I digress. :)

I just love how they handled the "no more changes in the delivery addresses" issue:

Starting today no more address changes
    @
Cut off all communications with backers

Too bad @Aiwe, Belen Moreno, did not log into the forum for over a year. Her previous interventions were really professional and helpful, informative. Is she even still the Director of Marketing at CB? Feels like this is somebody who should be helping us out with this here.

Yup, it's affecting a lot of industries but games are feeling the pinch due to being low capital, small companies in the whole. Kotaku literally just posted an article on the same subject. https://kotaku.com/shipping-prices-for-board-games-have-gone-through-the-r-1847190492

There was an announcement on the CB Facebook page the other day that they're producing racing car miniatures for France-based Holy Grail Games' next Kickstarter, which leads me to wonder if the partnership will extend to them producing the card components for TAG-Raid to avoid the shipping from China issue. This is speculation is further fueled by the announcement showing the car minis on a hexagonal tile :P

Was about to post this as the topic is more and more discussed lately.

One the main point that is explained and (I think) overly misunderstood is that freight and shipping are two different things (especially when freight is actually done by ship while shipping is mostly not). That's why the former's rise is impacting the industry so much.

Maybe one point that should have been explained ihmo is, gaming industry is mostly a niche one. Even a game that is sold a few hundred thousand times (which is quite over the average number) is nothing compared to others industry where a single reference is sold by thousand of billions with much higher marging. So when it comes to wait in queue, gaming industry is the small guy stuck outside of the building.

Our location construction industry is under similar pressures, the cost of lumber is up 300% in some cases, a 40' container from China (where most of our steel comes from) to Jamaica (our closest international port) has gone from US$2,500 to US$11,500. PVC is also more expensive due to the main plants producting the PVC resin getting knocked offline by the failures in the Texas power grid.

We were looking at getting the interior walls of our house skimmed and painted and the cost has more than doubled compared to 2019 due to material costs alone.

Wondering what the status of the ships is? I would be fine to know stuff is still in China, but no info at all is meh :face_with_rolling_eyes:

They couldn't even spend 5 minutes in 3 weeks to post something like "address change requests will be processed before shipping, don't panic". And these forums have been dead for CB for months.
Expecting any kind of feedback at this point is delusional.
