    The main idea of a roster in a fireteam of potentially 7 people, which can complete all the classifieds in the game (a spare base Crosier is taken to be able to rebuild Core, if for some reason only the paramedic dies): 2 hackers, 2 HIs, MI friar, msv, a lot elite or veteran troops, engineer, paramedic. Also, almost all roles are duplicated by other units, such as Dart, Trinitarian, Doctor with Bot, and Pathfinder. The Teuton Lt. is the cheapest single Lt. among all knights and is also well protected. For 2 "free" orders (impetuous and Lt.) he can shoot someone with a panzerfaust or run to the center to finish 1-2 classifieds.

    The main problem that I almost faced twice during tournaments and test games, but both times I managed to get around is the lack of a large number of heavy weapons, because the HRL wants to stand on ARO, and he will be killed if I go second, and Santiago-spitfire can sometimes be eaten by straying Andromeda at the very beginning or by something else later. But Dart and Trinitarian may go anywhere they need in camo and clean the center / make a bunch of classifieds by themselves.

    An improved version of the roster that I tested on streams in the RAL6 league. Here, Trinitarian-smg was replaced by a sniper, and the Crosier with Infirmarer were replaced by a Sergeant (to be a spare member in Core) and normal Trauma-Doc with Bot. A sniper in TO with infiltration is generally a very useful unit, which I often missed earlier.

    The bottom line is simple: walk and punch your opponent in the face. Firstly with Dart and TO shotgun, then Core. Or all at once and together, if necessary. Lt. stays at home or sometimes runs with everyone. In biotechvore he leaves the zone for free without spending regular orders.

    I won the initiative and decided to go first.

    Firstly, Missile destroyed Gecko standing on ARO at a distance of more than 32”. I spent 4 orders to kill him, because sometimes I didn't hit at all. On the other flank, Bee, at the cost of her life, disarmed the koala to enable Trinitarian to activate freely. He pressed the button, placed a mine in the path of Chimera, and recamouflaged.

    Chimera, together with 2 of 3 pupniks, runs into the mine, and everyone dies. On the right flank, Jaguar is trying to smoke another console, but suddenly appeared TO sniper critted him – there will be no more smoke, the sacred oath to eradicate all sin throwers is fulfilled. Kowalsky lands behind the sniper and shoots from more than 8”, but Trinitarian saves 2 hits. In the next ftf, with her last order, she manages to add 1 more save, but even here the sniper survives. Libertos tries to break through to the fireteam, catches a wound and dies in an attempt to shoot Teuton. Moran throws a koala under the sniper and stands up to shoot him and the missile at once, but dies without achieving anything. Billy desperately makes his way to the console, but another lucky shot from my Trinitarian sends him into oblivion.

    My second turn. Core comes closer to Taskmaster, but Puppetmaster stands on the roof with a successful dodge. Trinitarian kills Carlota, saves her flamethrower and deals with the last remnants of the nomads who tried to stop the knights fireteam. Santiago tanks Task’s pulzar and Puppet’s mine, meanwhile completely shutting down Taskmaster with E/M grenades. Further, the core together cuts Taskmaster first and then 2 servers into small pieces, losing only Sergeant from the second koala along the way.

    That was the end of our game.

    Win 9-0. This time I won almost all ftfs and saved almost everything, which, of course, does not entirely fit into the statistics, but in any case, the benefits from having a TO sniper in this game were obvious. I'm glad I changed my roster anyway.

    The opponent won the initiative – I go first.

    Oh, this amazing mission. I like it, but it makes both players suffer. Of the infiltrators, only Dart stood on the table. Fireteam was created without the lieutenant.

    My opponent deployed Core with 2 Grenzer-snipers, blocking the passages on both sides of his central house, but I had the opportunity to run into my own, having previously killed only TRbot.

    Impetuous lieutenant runs into the house on the first floor. Missile kills TRbot only with it’s second activation, and then, on the way to the house, also Puppet-marksman, whom Teuton managed to see from the blind zone of the enemy snipers. Sergeant with the second basic Teuton on the second floor, the others below. 2 coordinates for baggagebots, sniper and Dart to get everyone out of the zone. In the second group, only Trinitarian-minelayer and Trauma-Doc leave.

    Tunguska, in its turn, moves Core to the center and climbs into the house opposite my knights. My baggages, Dart and missile are destroyed along the way. Puppetmaster and Cheerkiller leave the zone. At the end of the turn, we suddenly find out that the opponent made a mistake and left one of the Grenzers in the zone, who doesn’t save and falls unconscious, leaving only a Core of 4 men.

    This gives me a chance to shoot the second sniper in 3 orders, kill the last puppet with a volley of Santiago-KHD nanopulsers and finish off Perseus, but Cheerkiller dodges everything.

    Raoul lands on the stairs of the house behind my fireteam, then goes up to the second floor and kills Teuton and Sergeant, receiving an injure by a shotgun in a shootout. Cheerkiller with a shotgun charges into the remaining knights, makes a wound to each of Santiagos, but dies from templates.

    The lieutenant joins the fireteam, personally finishes Raoul and, together with the beaten Santiagos, crosses the street and decapitates Securitate sitting on the first floor. Trinitarian has been unable to kill opponent’s baggagebot with a shotgun for the second time.

    The game ends after Intruder runs to my deployment under my sniper's nose in an attempt to make Mapping. But dodging and saving detain him, so he doesn't reach my deployment.

    8-0 in my favor. Opponent's error and knights' high total wound count with general availability of templates help to survive the terrible conditions of biotechvore mission. Already 3 kills in an active turn on the account of my missile.

    Now it's time to use my first list. The opponent wins initiative and goes first. He has 3 reserves in 1 group – obvious Marut.

    I put Friar on ARO, although I knew that it was easy to kill her with TAG, on the other hand, I shoot 1 BS better and still a problem for these camos if they dare to reveal themselfves. Maybe I should have deploy her in more closed position.

    Opponent infiltrates Andromeda from the reserve. I deploy Trinitarian with a mine near her.

    She spends her first order on the dodge, which allows my Santiago-spitfire to roll out towards her and exchange one-on-one without risking with other link members. Well, not one, along with his nanopulsers, Trinitarian appears on her second activation, shooting with a dice to prevent her from dodging. Andromeda hits my knight with a d-charge, and they both disappear from the table. Marut removes Friar, Naga-hacker approaches Trinitarian, but cannot kill him and stays near a mine. The second Naga – FO – comes to the big house from the other side, kills Crosier and makes Telemetry on Palbot.

    On my turn, I finish off both nagas with my infiltrators. My Dart finds enemy Dart, but is killed by a viral bow. Then Trinitarian goes there, not thinking that in the pool there are Predator card (and the Andromeda has already killed Santiago) and Coup de grace. He spends 3 orders on attempts to kill the last enemy camouflage, inflicts only 1 wound using the last mine and adding a shotgun and hides in the corner of the central armory. Machinist goes through the door of the big house to cover Trinitarian from at least one side.

    Proxy4 comes down from the roof, puts my infiltrator unconscious and finishes him, taking 2 cards for himself at once, but at least gets a wound from my Machinist. Marut blocks her half of the table with a suppressive fire.

    On my turn, I rebuild Сore from what is left: Crosier-paramed, Santiago-KHD, engineer and Sergeant-hacker. There are 3 cards on the table: Retroengineering an HVT with an engineer, Follow-up HVT with HI and Net-undermine pass WIP with elite trooper on the enemy half of the table. Link runs to the center, Santiago-KHD kills Proxy4 into unconscious and finishes enemy Dart. For the last 3 orders, he also passes WIP, the engineer touches an HVT next to the armory, and the Santiago yells at an HVT behind the box, direct access to which was blocked by the TAG. Fireteam ends the turn by huddling in the corner of the armory.

    For the last round, there are cards for hackers, which my opponent no longer has, but I have 2, and sabotage. Proxy1 begins with competing 4th card and then tries to template my fireteam, but dies from rifle volleys. On my side, only a paramedic gets hurt. Angry Marut goes to take revenge and looks into the armory. An ordinary hacker is trying to control her, while the rest fireteam members dodge remembering about a possible flamethrower. Marut splits burst: 1 for every LI and 2 for HI, but loses all ftfs and becomes mine.

    In place of sabotage, an extremis recovery card comes out. No one can stop me anymore, so I easily do In Extremis Recovery on the corpse of Proxy4, Espionage on the last HVT and Mapping.

    8-4 in my favor. Fireteam in this roster allows you to complete all classifieds – just create according to your needs. Santiago, as always – mvp.

    The second day began with a battle with the second top of the previous day – my friend and co-host of the Yellow Snake podcast Journey (we decided to create our podcast about Infinity on Russian because there were no information on our language about the game)

    I won the initiative, go second. I understand that I will hardly be able to inflict great damage on the opponent's army of HIs on my turn, moreover, on the supremacy, the second turn is decisive. I don't think that I would have been able to outscore the horde of HIs if they had the will to freely walk around the table knowing the location of my models in advance.

    Alexey sends me to be placed in the most open deployment with fire lines along the entire length from one edge to the other.

    It all starts simply: ShangJi in Core blows away my missile and Haris runs along my left flank killing everything it sees. Then Core comes after them. I lose the whole flank and both Santiagos with Trauma-Doc. There are literally left only Teutons, who impetuously run away from the deployment, all the markers and a couple more order generators. Dart stands up and through the only window kills Core leader – Zhanshi. Then she tries to throw E/M grenade at his corpse to turn off ShangJi and Haidao-sniper, but only makes them jump away. Lieutenant, on the remaining orders, runs closer to the enemy quadrant, killing SmartML bot and some random Zhanshi on the way.

    I have more quadrants, because my opponent has no one left on his half of the table, and he could only capture my left flank.

    The second round begins. Haidao-sniper goes out to shoot Dart, but dies from being hit by a viral bow. Then unsuccessful Haidao-KHD maneuver with Haris allows me to throw an E/M grenade at him, touching hitting also TaiSheng and nearby ShangJi. The hacker is isolated, ShangJi saves, and TaiSheng wins ftf and kills Dart. This is followed by finishing off the survivors, returning ShangJi home and pressing a button by Zhanshi-specialist, who triggers my TO sniper, but Trinitarian misses. Haris consisting of the remaining Zuyong-HMG and TaiSheng walks onto my half of the table, but finds out that it is impossible to kill a Teuton in 3 orders – he successfully dodges closer and closer, gets 1 wound and hides behind a corner of a house near TaiSheng.

    On my second turn, the wounded Teuton runs into TaiSheng, tanks a chain hit and chops her using his impetuous order. Then he comes for Zuyong, but enemy HI dodges shotgun dices. That leaves 1 regular order and a half-dead Zuyong(who was wounded a long time ago in attempt to kill my Santiago-spit). I decide not to risk the knight right now again, but to activate hidden Trinitarian with a boarding shotgun behind the Zuyong and distribute template also into the remains of enemy Core – baggage bot and another random Zhanshi. But only this Zhanshi dies, while Baggage bot kills Trinitarian. On the last order, the Teuton was able to shoot the Zuyong. Lieutenant found a lampbot somewhere in the opponent's deployment and shot it.

    I again have the entire right half of the table and only 3 units are alive, but this time my opponent captured the entire left half – a draw in zones.

    Round three. ShangJi ran to kill my lieutenant on all orders, but did not manage to run to my half of the table. An enemy lieutenant entered the same area by mistake, leaving the quarter next to my sniper empty. (Although it still costs less than Trinitarian-sniper, so it wouldn't change the outcome of the battle anyway)

    At the beginning of the last turn of the game, I am in retreat and loss of lieutenant. Only sniper in the zone with remnants of Core and isolated Haidao, which definitely outscores him, and the wounded Teuton alone in his quadrant survived. We could end up in a draw 3-3, with me making secure HVT with the sniper, but we were not happy with this outcome. Moreover, the only watching my sniper from below is Zhanshi-spec – the exact one who pressed the button and in whom sniper missed at the beginning of the game. I decide to step into an empty zone. The enemy has no cover, but closer than 16”, so he still shoots on 5 with his combi against my 2 on 12 DA sniper shots. The sniper misses again and fails a save – a potential 3-1 victory turns into a 2-3 defeat.

    Defeat 2-3. Dead deployment and a bit of bad luck on dices at the very end. There were a lot of crisis management...in fact, every turn started in another hopeless situation and I had to come up with a way out of it. A very intense and interesting game.

    I won the initiative and go first.

    Dart for all orders goes along the right flank, climbs onto the bridge and kills Masha from there, fails to shot Irmandinho twice and with two orders wounds impetuous Bear only once, dying in return from 2 chains. Link scatters around in between 2 buildings, Missile and Panzerfaust take ARO duty.

    The impetuous phase of Kosmoflot is completely skipped, as any of those activated would be killed by Missile. Core moves closer, and Volkolak-HMG kills my Panzerfaust with one burst, and then wounds revealed TO sniper. But he could not kill the missile Teuton – for the next 5 orders, the Teuton saves 2 hits out of 3, and the Volkolak himself 3 out of 4 in response, and then everyone goes home. The main problem is Volkolak has nowhere to go, since all the places are occupied by lying Varangians and a Bear, so he lays down next to them, but not in basic contact with a container. Survived Irmandinho throws smoke and runs closer.

    Knights recreate fireteam and go to the left bridge. Santiago-KHD discovers and shoots Uxia point-blank in order to secure Fireteam and allow the wounded Teuton-missile to relatively safely see the Volkolak from the bridge and cover him with templates along with the nearby Varangian and the Bear. As a result, only the Bearpode dodged successfully, and the rest were killed on the spot. Trauma-Doc eats all 3 command tokens using warcor’s order and rerolling twice, but he can not cure the sniper.

    The opponent's second turn begins. Core of 2 Varangs and Ranger gets closer to Teuton-missle, but Ranger rolls 3,3,3,4,4, gets 8 in return and fails all 3 saves. Irmandinho, sacrificing himself, throws smoke without ftf and covers the way for the Bear. Bearpode first climbs onto a wall of the left house and, receiving a wound from a mine, throws an ordinary grenade at the Teuton, which kills Sergeant. Then he goes into close combat with Santyago-spitfire. The Teuton tries to dodge, both Santiagos put 4 nanopulsers, but Bearpode shoots with 2 chains. As a result, the Teuton fails his mighty dodge and, along with Bearpode, leaves the table. The remaining knights received only 1 wound each. (Lieutenant downstairs was safe from the Bear.)

    My last turn. Spitfire walks across the roof and shoots out the remains of the Varangians. Trinitarian with a shotgun places a second mine on the approaches to the fireteam and recamouflages.

    The opponent looks at the table and decides that he will lose more than me trying to get around all this, so we decide to end here.

    6-2 in my favor. Correctly placed long-range AROs greatly interfered with the enemy maneuvers and completely locked the impetuous Bear on the roof of the house, and the sudden death of the Ranger left no chance for my opponent.

    As a result, I took 2nd place out of 44.
    And Journey took 1st. So our game just decided our top places in the end.

    Finally, the losing streak at TTS Casino was interrupted by an absolute success on dices in the first game and returned to equal throws later. The knights after the update turned out to be very good: cheap infantry, unique fireteam creation and Teutons with the ability to take a cheap Lt. option. The HMG in a fireteam is still not the best because of the high cost of the Hospitallers, and the version with TAG does not have such vitality and a set of specialists and tools as HI fireteam, so for me from time to time it was necessary to shoot with the missile in an active turn, but from distances greater than that of ARO units what, in general, isn’t so bad.

    I was wondering on why you decided on not taking the Tik and the table layout explains it. That's around 1/3 more terrain that we use where I play. It definitely makes MO more viable, on more open tables an HMG is a must take in my opinion.

    Usually such a big tournament have less terrain. And in such situation I use Dart and Trinitarian to clean some linked longrange ARO if there are no way to go around it(if the table is bad, actually). Now I am trying hospitallers, but they are much more expensive and I can't fit Trin-sniper in my roster with them.

    But much less ARO and almost no templates in a fireteam. And this all just for taking HMG in roster... Better to shoot with a missile in my opinion.

    Pretty sure @Pinky meant the Tik AP HMG as far as MO HMGs are concerned. Hospitalers are sadly too hamstrung by their Link Options in MO.

    Tik is just completely other list idea and sepulcher is another - both require some support, etc. For countermeasures they are not great. For biotech better to take heavy core rather then couple of single attackers, same for mindwipe(basically only fireteam and trinitarians can do it). So maybe not for this tournament.

    I think Hospitallers are pretty bad right now, never liked how those lists perform, I meant mainly the Tik for the HMG.

    As for taking on some heavy stuff like linked Kamau, Bolts, Grenzers, HI packing Missile Launchers, have Dart and Trinitarians been consistent enough to take those out? How do you approach it?

    With only 8" good range weapons at B3, can they fight off pistols at B2? Or is there some other way you do it?

    You can drop a mine first to force them to dodge or take an auto-hit, and Dart has EM Grenades for busting Fireteams, especially if you can hit a couple of the cheerleaders at the same time.

    On this tournament I just shot them with Santiago-spitfire. But in general you can also do exactly as @colbrook said: place a mine under it. Or just go around and kill other cheerleaders/link members. And then it won't be difficult to shot sniper itself.
    But in this exact tournament we had enough terrain, so I almost always had a possibility to get into 24".

    Btw, my tik list with 11-12 orders in the first group:
    Thought about using it, but, as I said, preferred to take HIs.

    Wonderful report! I know its 7 months ago but im catching up on the forum! I love your lists which are quite different from the usually recommended. The Santiago is a favourite of mine so I might just try this out. I love the Trinnies and what they offer. I do like the Sepulchral knight though.
