Hey, I've settled on Jade armour for my IS force. However, I cannot think of a recipe that I like. Do you have any suggestions? I mainly use Vallejo or Scale 75.
I've used Vallejo Emerald to good effect. Can't give you a proper recipe as I end up having big 6-month gaps between painting but seems to have come out alright when I wing it.
So I've had two different approaches. My earlier models (using the Zuyongs) were based in Army Painter Greenskin, which creates a warmer green, but now I prefer the colder green of just the emerald and highlighting with white mixes (hard to see with the shoddy photos) but that could be because I've been mainly painting White Banner.
I donĀ“t have a "receipt" for that, and tbh it varies to what kind of emerald effect you are after, but there were some recents posts in the FB WGC group that showcased "emerald" or turquoise minis. One asking about an alternate PanO scheme, including some receipts and paints, and one of somebody using a turquise/green Constrast paint on a... Hsien I think? that looked pretty rad.
Here's mine. Vallejo Jade Green is the main color. Then dark grey, medium, and light greys, Gold accents. The amounts of each color depends on the force. IA is mostly Jade, ISS is mostly Dark Grey with Light Grey, and WB is mostly Light Grey,
Thanks but it still doesn't look the same as in person. The lighting might be too harsh or direct. I've a lot to learn about photographing minis.
