Yep, but losing intuitive attack to make them more like everything else in the game was too obvious a fix.

Play Vanilla or WB or both - done!

I started YJ with ISS, then I the Guijia came out (and I won a Yan Huo on a turnament) so I decided to play Vanilla also. Could not resisted to start IA and with the Kaldstrom Box came WB (I ever wanted Svarlaheima for Pan O but WB changed my mind, so I did it before the Pan O side). So: If you play YJ, play all flavors!

Oooh, looks solid indeed. My only gripe is the sword on the ML model. If I can swap the right hand with the multi rifle model, I will have no complaints.

Okay, to rephrase, since I already play vanilla primarily (and I don't touch ISS anymore in their current state) give me a reason to want to use a Tian Guo in any of my lists.

Because they offer very little to make them an attractive choice in just about any context at the moment.

Well the 27point KHD holoecho madtraps profile is decent. Wip 14 trinity with suprise attack going through your own repeater is adequate against most regular hackers. Coupled with utility of madtraps, holo shenenigans and 14wip specialist with bonuses in some scenatios he is playable.
But I am sure we will get boarding shotgun first, then red fury without madtraps in the blister and maybe in few years combi rifle but without hacker visor and again without madtraps.

He asks a lot when put up against Gui Feng. He's considerably cheaper and more self sufficient.

YJ doesn't really do a good job of supporting its holo troopers. There's just not a lot of good "gotcha!" potential available because the holo troopers don't mesh well with the units they would want to disguise as.

That said, KHD minelayer is likely the least forgettable profile for the Tian Guo, but for what he costs I still wouldn't bother.

I think they're useful as something to make your opponent sweat a little and second guess themselves. The 23 point boarding shotgun would be quite fun masquerading as a monstrucker on a flank, facing the wrong way where a parachutist could walk in. In that case, you might bait a more valuable AD troop into eating a boarding shotgun template. If you don't think your opponent would run AD, switch it to hide as a monk covering a path to something valuable, then use the jammer. If your opponent is used to nailing hackers through guilang repeaters, hide KHD once or twice to scare him.

These tactics won't always be useful for a tournament list, but when you play a regular opponent it's a good thing to throw in once in a while, because then every time they bring in an AD troop or try to hack through your repeater they'll have it in their mind. Training your opponent there are possible counters and traps for obvious aggressive plays can be worth it even if it doesn't make an optimal list.

Tinbot is cute, but I'd have preferred a shang ji head. Has got the Shang Ji logo on its shield though and I like this pose better than Tai Sheng's tinbot.

    They look so... so... superior.

Have to say, the winners of the lot are definitely the HRL and the MR versions. Shang Jesus is undeniably good looking and a great callback to the original model, but all that beautiful detail does get covered up by the pose. I almost want to slap an HMG on the MR model, it's so good, I want it on the table.

Hopefully other angles do the HMG model a little more justice.

    They're all pretty great!

As a minor aside, isn't it odd that Yu Jing swords fit into their scabbards? The flared portion of the blade just before the hilt has nowhere to go. This is the first time I've noticed it, but it's the same on both daofei and perhaps a bunch more sculpts.

My plan is to use the belt-fed HMG from Quiang Gao to spice him up a little.

Do we have any unpack photos? I really really hope the arms are swappable between the HRL and MR model.

The problem is parts division. If they're divided in the classic "torso - arms" way I'll be able to get by with some filing and greenstuffing, but if they're the new "random cluster - random cluster" style it's gonna be a major hassle.

I'd already decided to buy one box, check arm swappability, and then if they are relatively easy to rearrange I'm going to pick up a second box to do alternate poses (and be able to WYSIWYG a dual HRL list for meme reasons).
