Had a discussion today, and the topic came up of Teutons, cubes and alien artifacts. Two questions were posed: - Are the Teutons guarding an alien artifact because they have no cubes? or - Do the Teutons remove their cubes because they are tasked to guard the alien artifact? Both of these questions indicate a Combined Army Artifact...in which case a Stepsistered Knight would be able to just remove it from a facility however a knight with no cube can't be step sistered Like the base profile of Light Shotgun and Panzerfaust is very much - Gaoler orientated...knights just rolling around with low calibre shotguns to prevent breaking various containment rooms and panzerfausts to just detonate things if a scorched earth policy was employed.
My understanding is the Tuetons pulled their cubes out themselves after fighting on the frontlines of paradiso so they couldn't be sepsitored. If I recall right the Knights Templar were involved in some AI or Alien Tech stuff that got them pretty much purged. Which is why only De Fersen is left, and he had to switch orders with no hope of future promotion or advancement.
They succeeded, there are two AI Templar swords still in existence. De Fersen carries one, and the other, called Bernice, was gifted to McMurrough after he rescued a former Templar and ended up trapped in big boi Doggo form.
Those are the two AI's to remain in service...Let's not discount ones that have likely been squirreled away by the Hexahedron in the event that Aleph goes rogue and PanO's like well stuff you we have our own AI to manage all this and is 100% loyal to PanO.
