Finally settled on a color scheme for my CA and converted up my old Sheskiin somewhat recently, her spear was an absolute pain for transportation so I changed it for a spitfire from a spec-ops, and added a hair from an AoS daughters of khaine kit.
I agree that the spear was problematic, but for some reason I only ever considered CCW swaps instead of just adding a firearm.
I had to carefully cut off the handle of her spear to fit in the spitfire's handle and bend her thumb to make the hand grip the spitfire properly, but other than that it wasn't too difficult to change the spear for a spitfire.
Inspired by @TheDiceAbide and others, I made an Anaconda with an underslung HMG. I used the scabbard as the basis for the barrel, and then built a receiver, magazine, and muzzle around it. I also lowered the angle of the sword arm (and its corresponding pilot arm) to de-emphasize it in the pose. Finally, I made the sword lightly curved like a saber or katana, because I did not like the aesthetic of a straight single-edged sword.
Had a go at a few conversions from spare models. First time really using greenstuff for anything more than gap filling. Weapons were borrowed from other CB models or 3D printed at Monstrous Makings. For some reason a second-hand alguacile came with a clipped off interventor head, so I did what I could. I got the idea from this video, at 2:40 min (literally minutes before I started chopping up the real helmet): And it's explained well, I got my result after the first try.
Reposing and Remodeling a giant mecha samurai Next step is to sculpt some segmented plates on the arms beneath the shoulder pads. Next step: wait for head crest to fully cure then add another layer to create a more defined shape. What do u guys thing so far? c&c welcome!
I have lost track of how many times I have rebuilt this SOB so I finally took a hacksaw to it and am happy with the results.
But what is it? Looks great and the paint job is making it even better. It looks rather alien wit the xeodrons head so I guess it is something for the combined army.
Also finishing up some other lesser conversions-- turning wormbots into ravenous alien squidbeasts to use as taighas for instance, and not liking morat aesthetics I chose to use Umbras as Witch Soldiers, I just tried to make them a little witchier Side note: minimising the iris tends to produce much better photos on a black background
