As a complete aside, when you're ready to expand your army selection, you can combine Haqq and Yu Jing into a good start for a Dashat mercenary army.
An excellent choice. :D Haqqislam does have some buff and/or durable pieces in it's lineup. He may wish to suss those out as he doesn't have to play the squishy punching bag all the time. :)
That's why I'm asking for help with tougher units. I want him (my son) to get more successes on the table. I'm afraid that he will be discouraged and will give up with trying. I do not need to win to have fun on the game, but we all need even small victories and kids need them even more. Many thanks for all advices. As my sons birthday is coming I have on my buying list: - Asawira - support pack - Hussein Al-Djabel (Rifle + Light Shotgun, Viral CCW) - Djanbazan Tactical Group (Sniper) Will pack of new remotes be useful as well? We haven't used any yet. Also I'm thinking about Zhayedan box and Maggy
Im by no means an expert, but here are my two cents: Assawira is a great model, stat-wise as well as a model per se. The support pack comes with two Nasmats, which are very useful! Al Djabel is a great model and that way your son could bring a second impersonator which could Couse his opponent - you - some headache [emoji6]. The Djan Sniper and his MSV2 opens up the opportunity of smoke shooting and a good aro piece. Has he had success with the Zhayedan with Breaker Rifle? Ignoring cover is quite nice... Maggy is an awesome model, I have not used her but it's definitely great birthday present [emoji16]. But as someone has maybe advised, try an proxy the models to get a feeling what suits his Playstile best. In my opinion, the next step could be the remotes, the support pack and the sniper. That way he has doctor and engineer including nasmats and remotes to proxy either as Rafiq/Famous/Shihab or Shaytaniyah. PS: keep on I'm also still a beginner and sometimes it's a bit frustrating trading asymmetricaly, but especially the guys in this part of the form are very friendly and helpful! Eventually, you'll probably find that you use a lot of remotes. They're never the interesting part of your list, but they'll usually be in there. In particular, the Fanous/Chaiyi is very cheap, provides an order, extends your hacking area with its repeater, and is a decent ARO with its flash pulse and mimetism. You'll often use it to fill out your list, and it will just sit on the table all game, providing an order and maybe firing its flash pulse once or twice but otherwise doing nothing. The Shataniyah/Son-Bae is in a weird place right now. Basically, both Haqq and Yu Jing will probably want to bring some hackers to the table, and if a hacker faces a non-hackable target, she can Spotlight it. Once a target is Spotlighted, a guided missile bot can pretty much just delete it from the table. So it's worth spending the 16 points for one - it will also just hide somewhere doing nothing except generating an order, unless you Spotlight someone, then you'll be very glad you have it. The other remotes in the remote box are more situational. The Rafiq/Weibing is a pretty cheap, fast specialist for pushing buttons in missions, and Sensor is very useful. The Rafiq also has a Red Fury version that's an ok gunfighter. It's a popular choice, but far from an auto-include. The Shihab/Husong is good for controlling part of the table, but both factions have other options that often do that better. (Yu Jing also has access to other remotes, some of which are really excellent, but they're a different silhouette size so you can't easily proxy them using the remotes box). In terms of what to buy: most factions have a remotes box, so you can buy the ones that look nicest since they're all basically the same. I really like the Pano remotes. You can also consider installing magnets in them so you can swap around the weapon attachments to use the same model as various different kinds of remotes. In terms of when to buy them - like I said, they're not interesting, so you might want to prioritize other models first. But you'll almost certainly buy at least one remote box for each faction eventually. And they're hard to proxy because of the silhouette, which suggests buying them sooner.
How many points do you play ? Imo starting the game playing 150/200 points is easier. I also suggest to proxy before buying. Often units behave very differently on board than in your mind. About the buying list, I would put on top of that the remotes. You can share a box between the two of you to start. Some people recommend the support pack but I almost never use it. Another box you can buy is the fire foes 6 defiance truth as it contain an haqq and a yu jing model. To be more specific here is a list of profiles I use and like in haqqislam: Mukhtar red fury Daylami panzerfaust Zulyeka Nazarova Azra’il HMG Saladin Nahab boarding shotgun Hassassin barid If you have specific examples of the difficulties your son is facing we could provide the appropriate solution Hope it might inspire and have fun
The best thing you can do, is playing hassassins the other sectorials are in a bad position right now so, You could begin with: Muyibs Asawira fidays Remotes Starter pack
