It is, though 1) it's at least somewhat justified by fluff, given the beating the order got from CA, and 2) most people would include those wildcards anyway, to make the link more flexible. Though I would prefer to have a choice in this matter. Leaving Montesa at AVA 1 IS weird, especially since they get AVA 2 in Acon.
Didn't the order get fused with Magisters though? It explains the linking, but not the shortage of manpower, since they should be getting just about every new volunteer the Orders get with enough potential to be worth powered armour.
Fairy dust grants cover not boosts your BTS. So a fairy dusted KoJ has BTS 9+3 (when dealing with AP is BTS 8), Santiago has a tinbot. You still have the tools that a lot of PanO has with Peacemakers, guns and Order Sergeant Hackers. I would even run 2 escort hackers. PanO hackers should be running their hacking through their repeater nets in the offensive. Either clearing out dep reps or pushing unhackables through with gun to clear out the hacker.
the only unit that can tank hacking is the KotHS because of veteran veteran cancel oblivion and BTS 12 make you fail IMM hacks on a 1 the KoJ even with a firewall will be oblivioned on 1-8 because that stupid oblivion is dmg 16+AP (oblivion is the most used hack) so 40% to fail your save and we are talking about the best possible scenario, BTS 3 without firewall have 70% to fail oblivion is worse than taking a Msniper in the face since it bypass how many wound you have it kick you out of the FT and most of time it happen in ARO in hacking area through walls MO can't have engineer in knight FT to fix it crosier can't haris with a KoJ and a engineer for exemple you have to waste your core on that and now with the free win tactic of spotlight+ML guided everyone and their mother want to play a repeater network so rely more on stealth and alpha strike hackers and ML bot. if not the hacking game will destroy you. or don't play hackable troop outside of your half of the table ^^' gl with your knights or play against ariadna xD Welcome to N4 the untested version of infinity
Well, Father Knights or Santiagos in Fireteams with LI can tank hacking because their Stealth forces the enemy Hackers to target the LI first and then they get free shots at the Hacker. Well, the enemy Hacker can reset, but it's hardly scary at that point. KNIGHT OF JUSTICE Spitfire / Heavy Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (1.5 | 47) KNIGHT OF JUSTICE (Hacker, Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, D-Charges ( ) / Heavy Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (0.5 | 46) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO (Hacker, Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, D-Charges ( | TinBot: Firewall [-3]) / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 39) MACHINIST MO (Immunity [Shock], Religious Troop) Combi Rifle, D-Charges, AP Mines ( | GizmoKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 17) CROSIER (Paramedic) Combi Rifle ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 13) Something like this seems like fun for Hacker hunting.
I thought the recent FAQ meant they could ARO against anyone, with the ARO being lost if the Stealth unit didn't break Stealth.
exactly, from the faq: If several Troopers are activated at once (for example a Coordinated Order or a Fireteam) and one of them uses Stealth while outside a reactive Trooper's ZoC or Hacking Area, can the Trooper that used Stealth be chosen as the target of AROs? Yes, but the ARO will only be considered valid if the Stealth user performs a Skill that allows AROs. well if you take two hackers in the FT it works xD
